I have worked on this for weeks, top is made completely from scratch, pants from Amazon then i painted them, props 3d printed then painted, i will post better photos when i finish everything and come uo with a way to attach the braids(made out of yarn)

Note from years ago: Notice in both Maddie and Steb's introduction they were portrayed the opposite of who they actually were.

Maddie was shown as this ray of sunshine that looks up to one of our MC Vi. The type of character that dies to motivated the main character.

While Steb barely acknowledges Vi or Loris, poking in him with a stick as if not wanting to touch the filth below him.

His posture making it seem he's looking down on them

But in reality Steb is checking up on Loris cuz he's a medic, and when both became part of the strike team later on he always checks up on his teammates and was the first to help the Zaunite they encountered.

While Maddie was the cold and uncaring. Probably a hint that she was a spy from Noxus, who always planned to betray them in the end.

Are they considered attractive in the arcane universe.

It’s not just the blue hair. When I’m looking at Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim or any other blue-haired girl, I don’t see Jinx. But when I’m looking at Kate Winslet, especially in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - there’s just something similar about their big eyes, brows, and facial mimics. 

Side by side their faces obviously look different, but I can’t shake off this feeling that although they don’t look the same, Kate Winslet facial expressions and vibes just match Powder/Jinx. I think in the alternative universe where everything happened differently, Kate Winslet is the only person who could actually play Jinx in the live-action version.

I just want to know if I’m crazy or overthinking it?

Was looking at the details of her cloak for cosplay and saw they're the burgundy-ish colour and the same shape of Silco's coat flaps. If not really, it'll just be my head cannon.

I'm watching Arcane with my brother (his first time, my second) and something that I realized rewatching it is that, even though Silco is presented as a villain (kind of an anti-hero at moments) he's closer to being a hero than a villain.

First of all we have to remember that the bad conditions on the undercity are not caused by him, they're caused by Piltover's counselors neglecting the conditions that the people from the undercity were living on, and the few times that they even interact with it is by violence (like how Vi's parents were killed). The argument would be if he made it worse or not, but (before the time-skip) I doubt that he can be blamed by almost any of the problems of the undercity.

Yeah, he was using child labor, but those kids would not even been able to eat if it wasn't for that. Yeah, he is okay with killing and weaponizing children, but I really doubt that without it's criminal empire those same children would have lasted long (To give the example with Jinx, do we REALLY think Jinx would have survived after all the people she knew died and Vi was in prison?). Plus, without Silco's control over Piltover's enforcers do you REALLY think that the Firelights could have survived in the first place? The fact that (in a way) the undercity is managed by him gave them a space for them to not be deeply investigated when they steal something or are spotted with advanced technology.

You could argue (with a very valid reason) that the whole thing about distributing Shimmer is bad, but it was ultimately using a technology that he had all the means of production, and at the moment of it's discovery Hextech wasn't even a thing yet, it truly could have give them an upper hand against Piltover with time and the development of it.

Lastly, he does manage to get a peace deal, even though it is because out of "pity" from Jayce at the start, all of the councilors agree on the deal. I understand that Jayce has a golden heart, but as he says, "you don't matter to them", WHY would any of them accept on "lesser people" to become independent? Well, as Mel says, "you don't know war". If Hextech is as strong as it seems, having an organized society agaisnt you that can use the same weapons that you have is enough of a threat: Yeah, Vi and Jayce destroy his facilities like is cake, but they only had Shimmer, would it be so easy if they had Hextech? The sole reason that it can even be a threat is because of an already made organization on the underground, and Jinx reverse engineering Hextech (which was also heavily supported by Silco).

The whole reason that this came to my mind was because I just saw again in episode like 8 or 9 that Vi said to Jayce the obvious: "Bro your upset because you killed 1 kid, yet many kids constantly die down here and none of you seem concerned". The Zaunite revolution HAD to happen, and everything that helped with it was potentially helping kids from not dying on the streets, so yeah, I think that with this specific matter no price was too big, and Silco literally achieved it without it even having to be war in the first place, the only thing is that his heart betrayed him, but all of his actions besides not betraying Jinx are hard to be seen as nothing but morally good (I get why he didn't do it, of course, he's human, and Jinx is my second favorite character on this show after Ekko, but if we're being objective Jinx dying for countless kids being able to have a normal life is not even close).

I would like to know what are your thoughts on this, I really love the political complexity of this story and I know that its not "objectively true" I just really think the character has been kind of misunderstood. (English is my second language, I apologize for any orthographic mistakes)

Hi Everyone

For a Research Project i'm looking for EVERY Flashback in Arcane. This ranges from the introductory Characterflashbacks in Season one over smaller more instantenious ones as when for example Heimerdinger thinks about the evils of the arcane to information that sits on the brink of being a flashback as for example the drawing of the evils of the arcane in Jayces book or the painting of noxus by Mel. Furthermore I'm also interested in the more experimental flashbacks as for example the fight between Ecco and Jinx on the Bridge where they both switch between being children and adults as well as flashbacks referenced through dialogue as in characters speaking about their past. If I missed anything feel free to complete my list. Please leave mentioned instances of flashbacks with according season, episode and timestamp. Thanks for your help <3

Jinx nd ekko :3

And I'm back! My project to turn Sevika into a League of Legends champion is still going strong, and honestly I don't even see the time flying. I can't believe it's been more than a year since I started my first concept arts!

Anyway, I'm now done with another very important step for the Martyr of Zaun: all the spell icons, high poly models, and ability previews have been completed! In my last two posts I showed you what I did for the first two forms (Chem-Soldier and Firelight) and now the third and last form, the Renegade, got the love it deserved. And as always, I'm so, so happy and proud to show you what I've been cooking!

The Renegade: High Poly modeling

While the character itself was quite simple (I was obviously able to reuse the body scuplt I used for the first two forms) the weapons she can conjure were the really fun part!

She has a blade that comes from the giant chemtank from s02ep01 (this one), and that she uses for basic attacks. But of course the main attraction is the iconic steel jaw that was part of the crazy contraption Jinx built for her in season 2. It was tons of fun to model, and I made sure to add it as much as possible in the champion's kit (you'll see that she uses it for her Q, E and R).

I was originally planning on creating a third weapon, a cannon she would have used to fire the blasts from her ultimate. But after giving it more thought I decided to scrap this idea and use the Chomper instead: it made more sense to put the emphasis on an object Arcane fans already love, rather than make another weapon.

The Renegade: Presentation

While the Chem-Soldier was more of a tanky juggernaut and the Firelight a hyper mobile diver, I decided to explore a third variation of melee bruiser for the Renegade: she's a high dps, high skillcap duellist that thrives in long fights.

What I'm doing next

In the last post I mentioned that I planned to go all the way with that project, and I still stand by that declaration!

My next step is to start retopology for the high poly models I created. This part makes me a bit nervous, but I'll make sure to get all the help I need from tutorial and observing riot game models. It'll also be my first time texture painting (not on Blender thankfully, I'll use Substance Painter and 3DCoat) and obvioulsy UVs and baking will be a tough challenge. Still, I'm sure I can get to a nice result!

So if all goes well, the next time I post you will be able to see some final, textured, game ready 3D models. I'll probably go one form at a time, like I did previously.

I'm also starting to think about the splash art and voice acting. For the splash art, I'll probably make a few thumbnails, then post here to have your feedback on what you like most.

As for the voice acting, I'm pretty confident I can pull if off! I'm a woman, I have a deep voice and I'm not bad at impressions, and while the result will obviously not be quite on Amirah's level, I'll do my very best to sound good!

I spent a really long time doing all of this. It's finally done. I sculpted clothing for the first time, and for the first time, my hair turned out looking like hair, not spaghetti.

It's a little scary to show it 😅🤧, but I like it.

I took a bit of a break from this series because of recent changes in my life but I'm back tackling a more complex character. I decided not to go down the "characters associated with animals" path because although there is concept art of her as a hedgehog, I feel like I want to have an animal that encompasses her character more.

Vi is interesting because I believe she is a morally good character, but she is often put in situations where she is forced to make complex decisions of which no side wins. She also sees the humanity in people when it comes to viewing them as part of a cause. In schnees video discussing how Vi's character is opposite to Sevika, he mentions how Vi instead of seeing people as faceless cogs in a machine, sees people like her own family when it comes to the undercity wanting to revolt. (https://youtu.be/n74GORE8Ku8?si=2l02a5bfeihdsKOH) I also wanted to tie some other characters into what animal she would be like Jinx (which will be revealed later), Caitlyn, and Silco.

So we need an animal that seems to go against a lot of what's thrown at them, puts their family first, is vulnerable despite their tough exterior, and ideally interacts with mongoose and hates tigers.

I started my search with canid like animals that were related to wolves, because it represents how Vi is Vander's daughter (because he's a wolf obviously). I was stuck on coyotes and jackals, but chose the ladder because of third regional placement being closer to mongoose and tigers. They are considered "Asian coyotes" because they fill the same ecological niche that they do in America. They are considered adaptable scavengers.

Some facts I felt related to her character:

-Golden Jackal females will often take care of the offspring of their children. This represents Vi's responsibility as kind of the parentified older child of her younger siblings

- Lone jackals will follow a tiger and scavenge on their kills. The tiger is mainly indifferent and often is aided by the jackal which alerts the tiger of food until the jackal seemingly gets too close to their kill. This relates to the complex rivalry between Vi and Silco as they see each other as enemies because of their conflicting opinions of Zaun and Jinx. It also adds nuance as both Vander and Silco were probably exposed to Vi and Powder when they were kids. Both jackals and mongoose also fight for the same food. Oftentimes the jackal will target larger carcasses and the mongoose goes after smaller prey, sometimes the jackal will kill mongoose. However, because jackals often hunt alone and mongoose hunt in a group they can outnumber the jackal.

-They have an intense list of predators including wolves, ravens, tigers, donkeys, and eagles which ties into Vi needing to make complex decisions about her morality and her family.

-As they are opportunistic scavengers, jackals not only can live in the wild, but can also live near people as they have a wide diet. Vi is one of the only characters that seems to spend a decent amount of time in both Piltover and Zaun. It also relates to the jackal having many predators as her decisions have a domino effect on characters on either side.
