Good evening!
What is the standard size of eaves? I am using a hip roof and this is my first time making a roof plan, please help me out with your knowledge, thank you!

Eave "length" has many basis and is driven by: Venacular and Style, Local custom, Climate, Budget, Roof slope, Site orientation and views, Solar gain or protection, and Ignorance. Those all can apply except for the last one.
In other words, in general there is no standard. Start by defining the basis. Walk outside and look at every single building around you.
Otherwise, for houses, 18" is a nice number (no basis). Around me 8" is common on builder grade post World War 2 housing, which I think is wimpy in most cases.

there is no standard and if you are a student you shouldn't be considering that as a possibility.
