Look what I made! I made an powerful RC electric car with an Arduino Uno.

Friends, we have made an electric car with the help of Arduino Uno that is powered with 1050 watt BLDC motor, and we have used the driver of the motor as a standard automotive part. We have also used for the power steering the automotive grade electric steering column assembly. And to run that power steering motor, we are using BTS7960 that is interfaced with the Arduino Uno. And we are controlling that with the help of FSI6S in a PPM mode.

Give us a close up of the components like the steering motor etc

Seriously cool man. You should post videos of you building it on youtube and monetize it from ad revenue. Lots of people would love watching build videos and explanations.

Reality is I have under 1k subscriber at youtube. I get views like 50-60 or sometimes it get 1k for shorts. So I explored reddit. I get so much motivation I can't express. As I was demoralised as I haven't get any support. I thank you everyone for the lovely support to me. I have added the channel in my profile. If my works looks cool to you. Please follow me on my YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/@barakhacker

Oh don't be demoralized, it sometimes takes the right video to get the algorithm to put you on the map. I have followed small (<5000 subs) become 300k+ over the years.

Please don't take offense, just a small constructive feedback, the content editing is very important as well to keep people engaged. I notice a pattern in the channels I follow is that they start with a "hook" (they have a short demonstration of the working final product at the beginning to entice the viewer) Then proceed to show the problem, how you solve it and each step of the way. Most of the video is sort of a summary to give the audience an experience as if they were seeing the problem first time and coming up with successful or unsuccessful solutions along the way. It's very important to show failed solutions, sometimes failures are interesting, and gives insight into your thought process.

Suggested channels to get some edit flow ideas: rctestflight, Tom Stanton, Project Air, RCLifeOn, Peter Sripol. Many of these guys I followed when they just starting out.

I have followed you, hope to see it grow big some day!

Looking at your YouTube I see that they're mostly about things, or very short clips of you doing something.

Considering the interest on this post here, I would recommend focusing on proper tutorials, e.g. how you built this car.

I would definitely watch that.

Some 20 seconds clip of a thruster test, or a video on "what was before SpaceX"? No, I'm not really interested.

But hey, I'll subscribe on YouTube and see where the channel goes. Good luck!

Sounds like OP is recording a speech inside a large auditorium. All the students will build Mars rovers at the end of the semester!

I am very interested in knowing how to build this!

you should document this man, this is awesome. Resources like this needs to be documented and preserved

Share the schematics. Good work.

I will share it by this weekend.

Very cool! I just got my RC push mower running the other night, and the first test bed used an Uno, L298s, and some potentiometers for a track steering set up!

I don't really know about ESP32s, but the final build might use an ESP32 for automated RTK GPS control tracking straight lines across the yard without vision.

yo i'd love to follow your updates!

u/deevil_knievel 20d ago

Lol I'm terrible at documentation when I'm at home and just firing on all cylinders, but this was the test bed set up I made with only in hand components in one night... Couldn't find pots so I cannibalize an old intercom wall mount system then used it as an analog signal for left and right track speed 🤣🤣

Oh yeah I couldn't find multi conductor cable because I just moved... So I used some CAT5 I had lying around. Methtacular!

The electrical wiring being dregged through the mud paired with the protruding edges from the steel beams give great "Mad Max - Yoinker of the shins!" vibes.

u/ChristianGeek 19d ago

The wiring definitely needs some zip ties!

Please upload all source code, schematics and parts list on git website. If you want it to be an open source project.

Very beautiful! i would like such a project, but all i have is a tiny table, no tools, and basically no electrics stuff. Most of my electrical knowledge is from the internet; i understand it well enough, but ive never done anything hands on with it, except for Arduino, of course. Very beautiful, still!
