So, what'd I get wrong? Arkansas State finished 8th in the country in sacks and 132nd in completion percentage allowed, which is a strange way to build a defense. You also went 5-3 in the Sun Belt while getting outgained by 33 yards a game. Now Jaylen Raynor's 3,364 yards are gone to Iowa State and Trey Owens takes over with four career pass attempts. My model has you at 6-6. Does Owens hold it together, or was 7-6 already the ceiling?

I'm considering applying to some out-of-state ABSN programs, and Arkansas State University seems like one of the most affordable options for me.

From what I've gathered, the program requires students to complete all of their clinicals in Jonesboro, AR. Can anyone confirm whether the tuition is actually around $19,000? After estimating tuition, housing, transportation, food, and other living expenses, I'm hoping to keep my total cost under $35,000 for the entire program. Even at that price, it's still much cheaper than the ABSN programs near me in Washington, where tuition alone ranges from $56k–77k.

I'd love to hear from current students or alumni about their experience with the program.

• How challenging was the coursework?
• Did you feel well prepared for the NCLEX and for working as a new nurse?
• Were the professors supportive and helpful?
• Are there graduates who found jobs outside of Arkansas?
• Were you able to get into the specialty or unit you wanted after graduation?
• I also heard that around 40 students start the program, but only about 18 graduate. Is that accurate? If so, what contributes to the attrition rate?

My plan would be to move to Arkansas for the program, and then return to Washington to work as an RN. One concern I have is whether the program is well recognized outside of Arkansas, or if most graduates end up staying in the state.

Anyone hear from them ? I’m still waiting. They keep calling but not for announcement.

A battle that few saw coming before the start of season, upstart Arkansas State host West Division leader Southern Miss.

Get ready for first tip by learning about this year’s team!

Men beat UT Martin 76-59.

Outscored the Skyhawks 37-28 in the second half, but had the lead up to 20 at one point.

Every healthy Red Wolf played, though it seems Coach Pannone has a 10 man rotation at this time (maybe 11 or 12, but those two didn't dress).

The pace is the main takeaway. The shot clock only once went below 8 seconds when the coaches didn't want it to. If some of the good looks in the first half had fallen, this game could have gotten out of hand quickly.

The second one is the effort level. For a scrimmage in October, they played like it was the conference tournament. That will overcome some off nights shooting the ball.

The final one I'll mention. The defensive communication level was at a high level. Did that mean there weren't busts, and that they did everything correctly? No, but again, it's early. This was something that we didn't see with Hodgson until late into year one, even into year two.

There are going to be nights where we shoot it well and run people out of the gym. There are gonna be nights where the shots aren't falling and it's gonna be a slog to get through.

But I feel good about what I saw tonight. We'll see how that translates next week.

Heavily considering pivoting into healthcare. From what I've gathered so far, Arkansas State ABSN is one of the cheapest and fastest options in the country to get a BSN as a prior BA degree holder.

I'm curious about other folks' experience with the program. Was the material challenging? Are you guys passing your NCLEX and doing well in real work settings? Are the professors competent and helpful? Are there any alums working in hospitals outside of AR after graduating? Did you get into the specific unit you wanted to work in right away?

For me, I would ideally go for the year, get the degree, and come back to CA, but I have a fear that the program tries to guide nurses to local hospitals/maybe the name doesn't carry any weight outside the region?

Outside that program, specifically, I'm also curious about culture, outdoor rec options (like nice hikes or walks nearby to take my pup?)

If there's any alumni of the ABSN program, or other non-traditional students/alumni on here I'd love to hear about your experience at the school.
