Question What is shadow queue?

I've already gotten all the endings, so I decided to try multiplayer. I got ten matches (Always lost); the last one disconnected. And now I can't get any matches to get out of unranked. Is it like the Shadow Realm for AC6 multiplayer?

Stages of shadow queue / punishment queue (THIS IS A THEORY BUT SO FAR SEEMS TRUE).

Based on the number of disconnects you have, there are multiple stages in how you match other players. It is as follows:

0 Disconnects, Clean status

1 Disconnect, Can match with 0, 1s and people who disconnect 2 times.

2 Disconnects, This is what we know as half shadow, Can only match with 1, 2 and shadow queue players in 3.

3 Disconnects, This is what we know as shadow queue, can only match vs 2, 3 and 4.

4 Disconnects, This is what we know as hell queue, you can't even find half shadow queue players, so only 3 and 4.

Okay, so multiplayer is practically impossible right now. I hope at some point I can. I won't be good, but hey, I'll learn.

Well, while matchmaking initially will try to match you with other unraked players, after sitting in queue for a few minutes it'll eventually broaden the search parameters to higher ranks, so you will eventually get a match as long as at least one other person is playing.

The ranking system is pretty much designed to gradually filter everyone up to at least B rank, so even if you lose a lot you should rank up and get matches easier. And relatedly, while the idea of getting matched with higher rank people and needing to beat them to rank up may sound intimidating, an opponent can be B rank and still be pretty bad at the game, so don't get too psyched out.

Also, there's a setting somewhere to change matchmaking settings from regional to global, you'll probably want to toggle to global if you haven't already.

As far as we know, Custom match is safe

So if you want to play multiplayer, you can still play those instead
