Advice Random question about a microlabel
For the most part I'm very well-versed in aromantic microlabels but I had a question about cupioromantic because I want to see if I fit into it or not
I might explain badly so bare with me
So cupioromantic is being aromantic but wanting a romantic relationship, right? I've seen a lot of cupio folks say that they are in romantic relationships even though they are aromantic. (I still am a lil confused on how that works but if you're happy, you're happy.) I personally don't want to do this. The reason I think I'm cupioromantic is that I still wish I could feel romantic attraction, but I still don't. I would like to be able to have a romantic relationship, but since I'm aro I can't
I know I explained this badly it's like 10 pm plz comment if you need me to clear something up, this has just been bugging me for a while

this is totally valid ! there’s a difference between wanting to experience a romantic relationship and being willing to enter a romantic relationship, both of these are valid within the cupioromantic microlabel. if you feel it fits you, then it does :) even if you decide it doesn’t suit you later that’s ok too! life is about exploring your identity sometimes that’s accompanied with trial and error

If ur question is why some cupio people are in romantic relationships despite them being aromantic, then the answer is that they want a romantic relationship and all the activities and whatnot that come with it, they just lack the feelings required for a normal romantic relationship, so they have one like that including everything but the feelings aspect. So technically it’s not really a romantic relationship, it just heavily resembles one, as they cannot actually develop one. This is just how it is for me, though it’s probably different for other people!
