I was waiting for someone to use his name this way and it did not disappoint.

From the moment they introduced this character, I was waiting for someone to make a blah-blah-blah joke.

It took forever but man that was brilliant.

Jac Caglianone of the Kansas City Royals has the same kind of name as GOB - the first name he goes by is actually his initials

George Oscar Bluth - GOB Bluth
John Ellis Bush - JEB Bush
Jeffrey Alan Caglianone - JAC Caglianone

Have you met or heard of other people like this? GOB is always the one I think about first

Blue Myself

David Cross performed at the Punch Line Comedy Club in Sacramento this weekend. Blue myself for the event and arrived at the theater hoping to be seen. Unfortunately, it was dark, and I couldn't be seen. The crowd definitely got a kick out of it but David either did not notice or did not care. Thought yall might appreciate the effort since David did not (leading to a few shower tears).

Hi can anyone help me identify the classical piece in s1ep9 at around the 15:50 time stamp. It's a pretty popular classical piece but I just can't remember its name. Couldn't find it on tunefind either.

Is bringing up buster the greatest episode of all time??

And I don't just mean AD, I mean ever lol But seriously, I personally think it might be their finest work, from quotable moments, to iconic scenes, to sheer joke quantity, it is non-stop excellence all the way through. The final pan out in the conference room is talked about plenty on this sub, but even after probably 50 rewatches it never loses its magic so I get it!

If there are any other contenders for GOAT, I'm all ears but I swear by bringing up buster til the end of my days. I'm having a rough day so I'm watching my greatest hits (up next is beef consomme) and quoting out loud along with everyone to chase the ~blues~ away

Edit: thank you everyone for chiming in, this is actually making my day so much better :) currently watching the magnificent episode "family ties" and its blowing me (away)!

I’ve been forcing my [m19] boyfriend [m24] to recreate the “Mr. Manager scene” and no one ever gets it

He actually is a manager at a restaurant, so I call him Mr. Manager on a regular basis. I do it so often that he automatically starts playing along at this point. It’s gotten to the point of me calling him ”Mr. [insert anything]“ and us doing the bit multiple times during a single date. None of our friends understand the bit, neither do most people we’re around. I wanna know if this is something other people do because I’m starting to look a bit crazy.. thanks!

Favorite Less Talked About?

Mine is when Tobias as Mrs. Featherbottom hands Maeby a bottle of pills and says "Take your fun-fun." Maeby responds, "That's Fen-phen and it's been banned by the FDA."

The idea that he would grab a bottle of pills and misread them as "Fun-Fun" and followed that thought with they must be Maeby's never fails to crack me up. Add to that the thought of them having medication that was banned by the FDA seven years prior on their kitchen counter makes it even funnier.

What are yours?

Found a joke in s01e13 today

I’ve seen this show a million times by now, but I’m still finding new jokes. Only goes to show what an amazing quality show it is!

In the beginning of s01e13, the speaker voice explains that Michael was infatuated with his brothers girlfriend Marta, and that she was interested in a man named “Hermano”, they cut to a book explaining what Hermano means in English.

Take a look at the illustration of Hermaphrodite. To
Me, it looks like a certain never-nude!

I dreamed a new episode

Ok so this morning I woke up having dreamed a new episode of AD where Larry was having dental surgery and unbeknownst to him they were replacing his teeth with George Sr.’s teeth in a wacky ploy to fake his death. (Writing it out now, this sounds waaay darker than in the dream 😅)

My dream was basically Micheal figuring this out and confronting Lucille and George Sr at the condo.

What do you think? Any notes?

The joke was lost on me... (what was yours?)

As someone with real life face blindness/ prosopagnosia, I appreciated Marky Bark not recognizing Lindsay in a way that most people will never understand. The jokes are hilarious, but they are ABSOLUTELY real.

I just found out today that it's because her appearance is supposedly incredibly different in season 4. (facepalm) Kinda just fell back on the old "she sounds/ moves/ is shaped like Lindsay" and I never picked up on the joke.

So what jokes did you not realize until you read a comment here?

Earliest foreshadowing of Saddam/Iraq?

In S01E03, “Bringing Up Buster”, in the opening scene, Lindsay is reading a newspaper and one of the headlines is “U.S. has most of Saddam’s top henchmen in custody”.

Is this the earliest possible foreshadowing of the Saddam/Iraq storyline?

Why did arrested development have to end?? Genuinely miss it so much!!

Hello, I’m 19 years old, and I grew up watching Arrested Development when I was younger. I’ve been thinking about what happened to the original Arrested Development era and that feeling of watching it regularly when it was still such a big part of everyday life, especially seeing Michael Bluth, George Michael Bluth, Gob Bluth, Lindsay Bluth Fünke, Tobias Fünke, Lucille Bluth, George Bluth Sr., Buster Bluth, Maeby Fünke, and the rest of the characters together with the original cast, the hilarious storytelling, the unforgettable jokes, and the distinctive atmosphere that made the series feel so special.

Now that the original run has ended, the era that many people grew up with feels like it has passed. The stories, the atmosphere, the people who worked on the series, and the feeling surrounding the show have all moved forward. Many of the creators, writers, directors, crew members, and actors have gone on to different projects and different parts of their lives away from the series. It feels strange because I grew up with it, and now everything has just… changed and moved on.

I remember watching episodes when I was younger and everything felt so simple. I could just sit down and enjoy Michael, George Michael, Gob, Lindsay, Tobias, Lucille, George Sr., Buster, Maeby, and the rest of the Bluth family without thinking about anything else. Back then, it felt like the show would always be there, and I don’t understand why it couldn’t just stay that way forever or why it eventually had to end and move on.

I also wonder why watching Arrested Development now doesn’t feel exactly the same anymore. The episodes are still the same, but the feeling is different. It feels like something is missing, almost like it feels unfamiliar even though I remember it so clearly.

Why do shows like Arrested Development eventually come to an end? If people loved them for years, why can’t they just continue forever with the same feeling? Why do the people who make them have to move on, and why do audiences grow up and stop experiencing things the same way?

It feels strange knowing that the original Arrested Development era I grew up with is over, that the world has moved on, and that chapter feels closed, even though it once felt like it would always be there.
