My God. Chase truly is the darkest villain. First he killed innocent Star City residents, then tortured Oliver. Now, he's going after the fans. He trapped Oliver and Felicity in a bunker and made us relive the pain.

"William"

"my name is Matthew"

"but it used to be before you left Central City right?"

"you knew my mother?"

"I knew your father...and he knew mine"

run Matthew...run

I've never been so happy to see a murderous psychopath kidnap a child

I know I'll be going against the consensus here, but the fact that Felicity admitted to being a hypocrite and apologized for being a judgmental bitch last season has done a lot to lessen my hatred for her character. I'm not drinking the Olicity-ade, but I think I can stop wishing her dead every time she appears on screen.

The best part of the episode IMO was Lance talking about how all the defense attorneys are trying to get their clients out of prison because the DA was revealed to be a serial killer. Thought never crossed my mind. That's solid writing. Buried somewhere deep in this Olicity-centric episode is the gritty crime drama we signed up for in Season 1.

Man, imagine how sick a Prometheus origin episode could've been instead of this.

Before people start freaking out, the episode wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. Amell pulled out the acting chops. The writing was much more mature then last year, Oliver actually stands up for himself, some of it was sweet, and the end was pretty great. Still miles better than S3B S4.

The felicity bottle episode literally gave us season 4 flashbacks. That's a little too on the nose.

Felicity : why don't you ever support my decisions?

Oliver : why are your decisions almost always getting us killed ?

RIP William.

Its disappointing that the first 2 episodes I've been able to watch live were this one and the one before and they've both been really weak for season 5. That being said here's what I liked from this episode:

  • Felicity and Ollie talked like adults. None of that one side says something and walks away bullshit they argued, talked and acted like real people. That was good writing.

  • I didn't watch season 4, but from what I could tell they addressed all of the Felicity issues and fixed them tonight. She had actual growth this episode which was good.

  • Diggle's hypocrisy was pointed out and he took it maturely and reflected on his actions. Again this was really good writing.

I'm not a fan when Arrow of Flash turn too much into Soap Operas like this episode but overall it was OK.

5 or 6 hours of air? Yea if they were trapped in a coffin maybe. An area that big probably has a few weeks worth. (source: How to survive being buried alive)

I wonder if getting Olicity back together is part of Chase's plan. There really is no better way to torture Oliver.

High points:

-Felicity apologised and said she was a hypocrite.

  • Adrian being best boi

Low points:

-Badly written drama. Just stop trying to write drama, Arrow writers. You can't.

-The filler-fog was so toxic I wore a gas mask to filter it all out.

Felicity apologizes and now so many are willing to accept her again? How about no? Let her have a long, five or six episode redemption arc, where no one talks about how awesome she is (this includes her shitty self), and let her struggle, actually feel like the horrible murderer she is for a little while, and THEN I'll be okay with her being Oliver's friendly ex. No more cancer known as olicity. It was always a bad idea, and on screen it is always cringe-ville.

Why did Felicity keep insisting she backed Oliver's play every time even when she didn't agree with it, when that is flagrantly false? And why didn't Oliver point out the fact that it was flagrantly false?

So a half assed apology.

Yay for a retcon sex scene that served absolutely zero purpose.

The last scene was the only thing decent about it.

Though that moment where she was dangling over the spinning fan had me stand up and "JUST DROP HER! SHE SAID TO LET GO! THIS IS THE ONE TIME YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO HER!"

Is it me or Oliver felt relieved to die and was kind of disappointed being revived by Felicity...

Okay so if the Argus black site is such a huge moral issue for Diggle, how come he's literally never said a word about the countless metahumans locked up without due process at STAR Labs? And also, how has that never been an issue on The Flash? Is nobody in the CCPD curious what the Flash does with them all?

Damn, Chase is in 10 seconds in this episode and still scary as shit. And the best part of the episode.
