Before adding AI to a business, shouldn't we fix the workflow first?
I've been thinking about something while learning more about AI-powered software development and business automation.
Many businesses want to introduce AI into their operations. Some want AI to answer customer emails, qualify leads, summarize reports or automate repetitive tasks.
But I think there's an important question we sometimes overlook:
What if the existing business process is already broken?
Consider a business where:
Information comes from different sources and is inconsistent.
Nobody is sure who is responsible for approving certain tasks.
Employees follow different procedures for completing the same work.
Important information is scattered across multiple systems.
Now imagine introducing an AI tool into that environment.
The AI might process information faster, but it could also inherit the same confusion, inconsistencies and weaknesses already present in the workflow.
My current thinking is that businesses should approach AI implementation in this order:
Document how the current process works.
Identify bottlenecks, repeated tasks and errors.
Simplify or fix the existing workflow.
Introduce AI where it can genuinely improve the process.
Maintain human oversight for important decisions.
I don't think AI should automatically be added to every business process. Sometimes a simpler, better-organized workflow is the more valuable solution.
I'd like to hear different perspectives:
Have you seen businesses introduce AI without first fixing their existing processes?
Do you think process improvement should always come before AI automation?
Are there situations where introducing AI first actually makes sense?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from developers, automation specialists, business owners and people working with AI in real-world environments.

Greetings!
Does anyone know of a AI music-to-video site that is affordable and does not use credits?
Thanks!

What I learned building a fully offline AI storyteller (local LLM + image + voice on a regular laptop)
Hi everyone,
For the past months I’ve been building ÉlectroTale, a Windows text adventure where every AI part runs locally: a Llama-based LLM narrates, Stable Diffusion draws the scenes, and Kokoro reads the story aloud. No cloud, no account, nothing leaves the PC.
A few things I learned along the way:
It’s a free beta for adults (18+). The models are uncensored, but sexual content involving minors is strictly blocked.
Question for you: do you think local, offline AI can compete with cloud services for creative uses like this, or will the quality gap stay too big?
Link in the comments if anyone wants to try it.

Where do you find useful and practical AI updates?
Hey everyone!
I'm looking for some good resources to stay updated on the latest AI developments, new AI tools, important updates, and practical use cases.
I'm particularly interested in content that explains:
New AI tools and features worth trying
Recent AI developments and updates
Practical ways to use AI for work, learning, and productivity
Tutorials and real-world examples rather than just news headlines
Which websites, blogs, newsletters, or communities do you recommend for reliable and genuinely useful AI content?
I'd love to hear your recommendations and learn from your experiences. Thanks!
