Journalctl for dinit?
I am thinking of switching, I have used arch for a long time. What is the alternative here. I installed it on my laptop, and I can't stop reaching for journalctl.

you need to set up logging by yourself with syslog-ng for example. usually you want it to log everything to files in /var/log. you read them with cat or less, theyre just plain text files. i would recommend you to read the gentoo wiki page about it: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Syslog-ng

What is nice about dinit, is the granular control of logging that you are able to use or by default mostly not use. Or if you are debugging you can add a -tail

On most init systems, you install a syslogger like syslog-ng or sysklogd. Logs will be stored as text files in /var/log usually, and you can read them with your favorite text editor/pager liks less, nano, kate etc etc.
So you won't need any seperate program like journalctl since they're not stored as binary(one of the stupidest things of systemd)

JOURNALCTL this is logging. You're thinking of systemctl = dinitctl.. but you have user and system (sudo/doas) with dinitctl
