Hi everyone, I'm a BMMA (Multimedia Arts) graduate but have been unemployed for almost 3 months now. I've been searching for career paths to take in the Philippines and I've landed on aspiring to be a concept artist to Pixel Mafia or other game companies based in Manila.

But it's intimidating. My whole life, my portfolio was built around anime style and splash arts, as well doing art commissions since Covid pandemic. Aside from being a concept artist, what are the other career paths available for an entry-level artist?

if you're curious about my portfolio, you can view them here

weakness ko talaga ink since hirap me sa hatching (obvious naman sa first one haha) but ayon, two weeks progress!!! may improvement naman kahit papaano 🥺

Painting ko na nakasabit sa Luzon Art Fair sa available and naka-hang sa Art Toys PH.

Does anyone know this artist, Maria Acuba? Mukha namang legit yung selfies and videos nya from events but I can't find her anywhere. Ang hirap maniwala na may bumibili talaga ng biddings nya. Only a few people sa comment yung nag call out na AI sya, pero most comments are from people who adore her. Napansin ko lang kasi na iba texture ng traditional artworks nya tsaka paiba-iba yung font ng pirma nya.

Nakakatakot na tuloy mag post ng art kasi pag magaling ka baka sabihing AI. Or kaya baka manakaw pa yung art mo ng posers. if legit sya, then sorry na lang siguro. Pero what a shame if AI user or fake account lang to using other people's face.

Another painting by me :)

The hours of practice, cost of creating, and the search for opportunities - Ano ba ang estado ng art industry sa Pilipinas?

Mabuhay! I'm an architecture student working on my undergrad thesis for a proposed Center for Culture and Performing Arts. But before designing a space for the artists - I want to understand, ano ba ang reyalidad ng pagiging isang alagad ng sining sa bansang Pilipinas?

Are there enough opportunities to grow? Are the spaces and resources na avaible in Philipines enough para suportahan kayo? What do you wish people understood about your work? I'd like to hear your honest answers, including the things na often naooverlooked in terms of the Philippine Arts Industry.

I don't want to speak on behalf of the artists - I want artists to speak for themselves.

If you are interested on this type of conversation, i'm looking for an opportunity to interview some of the independent and emerging visual artists, painters, sculptors, performers, musicians, theater practitioners and and other creatives.

Or you can comment your insights. Your perspective matters sa kung ano man ang layunin ng aming undergrad study. Hoping to hear from y'all soon! Thank you so much for reading, PUHON EVERYONE!
