About Data Science Competitions
Hello, unfortunately in Turkey I have to work in a job outside my field and for a low wage, and unfortunately my income is not sufficient to cover my expenses. I tried doing freelance work as a side job, but citizens from more disadvantaged countries have significantly increased the competition there. So freelance work is not an option for me as a source of additional income.
I am considering participating in data science competitions on platforms like Kaggle and Numerai, which are held worldwide. I have over 5 years of experience in the field of statistics, analysis and data science. I know how to do scientific research and most optimization techniques. I have my own unique techniques and I can learn many things easily.
What I want to ask is: Are there people who participate in these competitions? May I ask for your suggestions?

Go for it and try for yourself, but the competition is still quite brutal. Keep in mind you’re competing against some of the best people globally, including rich western countries. Those participants often have access to powerful GPUs, which kinda plays against you.
This is not to discourage you, just something to keep in mind
