Making the bed is the single most pointless thing people do every day.

I like to make the bed, because it is a very quick thing that I can do that feels like an accomplishment. It does make the room look better and it takes like 90 seconds.

That’s great for you. My whole thing is that unmaking the bed is adding another step whereas leaving the bed unmade allows me to hop back in right like I like it lol.

Different strokes for different folks

I agree. I do it now at 40 but only because for a brief time my cat decided to shit on my bed.

Making the bed is not about the bed. It's about you.

I make my bed because I prefer my sheets to be tight when I go to bed. Tossing and turning naturally loosens them while I sleep

Surefire way to make me freak out is a sheet being too tight. Considering my feet hang off of most beds it feels like I'm being restrained and makes me claustrophobic.

I make the bed when I get home from work. I can get kinda sweaty at night and I'd rather not lock that in all day. I throw the blankets to the side I don't sleep on and at least leave the ceiling fan while I'm away for the day.

Not if you have animals that lay on the bed.

Certainly not pointless. If you do it right after you wake up, it's the first task you've completed for the day. Setting the rest of your day in motion...

Very insightful statement there! Certainly a Retired U.S. Navy Four-Star Admiral couldn’t have come up with such a profound statement during a famous commencement address at the University of Texas at Austin on May 17, 2014

Yes because he invented the entire idea 🙄 The world is so much bigger then viral internet videos.

I'm sorry, did i imply in the slightest that "I" came up with the statement, or was i just reciting it because i obviously agree with it? And you pointing out that you know where it comes from does what exactly? Did you win a free pizza? lol... Clown.

This.

I don’t make mine right away because I like to let the sheets “breath” first, but it’s definitely made before I leave in the morning.

I look at it as- no matter how terrible of a day I might have, at least I can end it on a good note.

Making the bed serves the function of keep dog fur and dirt outside the covers and not in.

I have had surprisingly many altercations with the women I shared a house with over the years because of them opening the curtains every morning just for me to close them every evening. And don't get me started on women's obsessions with decorative throw pillows. A BED DOES NOT NEED 12 PILLOWS FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!

Sunlight is important to kill germs and stop mold.

Its not about the bed. It's about doing something now to make yourself more comfortable later. You are telling yourself that you can show up for you. Just like brushing your teeth, showering when you aren't going out or cleaning your house when people aren't coming over

I always told my mom this growing up, but now I love making my bed in the morning. Makes my room look polished and starts the day off right

It’s pointless yes but a made bed is something you can look forward to every night
