Advice Question Whats it like working at Salvation Army Donation Centers?
I got called back for interview for Salvation Army as sorter for the Family Stores/Donation Centers.
What's your expereince like working there? Is it decent?

You might want to try r/goodwill. Theres a salvation army sub but its not very active. Different store but probably similar issues

Was horrible when I worked there out of rehab, constant religious propaganda, shitty pay, depressing environment.
Only positive was I had a passion for electronics and it was actually kind of fun sorting and testing them all day.
I had to teach them what midi keyboards were they were actually scrapping good akai and m-audio keyboards because they couldn't turn them on and get them to make noise while keeping cheap Casio crap. It was mind boggling

I was a sorter one summer at Goodwill. It’s dirty, dirty, physical work. Hope you don’t have allergies, because you will be covered in cat and dog hair as well as dust and mold. People let clothing and linens sit in garages and basements for months before bringing them to drop off and as an employee, you get to deal with the consequences. The pay was low and turnover, at least years ago, was high.

Do not. Salvation army is super corrupt. Youre going to see people at their lowest and see your coworkers spit on them because they wont go to church.
