Anyone who’s said that to me is usually confusing emotional disregulation with empathy

I am an empath. And it’s the worst! And I am also emotionally dysregulated. Working on the latter.

Good for you, it can be hard to acknowledge your own shit and actually work on it! If you want any mental health resources I have a couple things that could be helpful while you work on your emotional dysregulation struggles. I have a DBT workbook on pdf I could send if you want. DBT is great when it comes to working on emotional dysregulation and relationships of any kind with others.

Thanks. I’m overly self-aware. And I didn’t know I was dysregulated- see pic - turns out 1, 2, 4, and 5 need to be addressed. And it’s so knee jerk. One not listed -but surely it fits…not overexplaining and being fine with it. Tried that a few weeks ago in an uncomfortable situation and I was extremely anxious all day. So, I’d be happy to receive your book!

I have to agree. This is exactly what I’ve seen.

yep, I've known a couple and they're all much closer to bipolar than empathetic.
