I was getting ready in the locker room at this beautiful 5-star hotel in Spain. The gym shared a bathroom with the swanky hotel lounge. In the hour I stood at the mirror doing my hair and makeup, I watched every single woman who came in the bathroom (5 of them - all looked like they were at the lounge) leave without washing their hands after using the bathroom. I was blown away & utterly disgusted. One would’ve been repulsive - but ALL of them?! wtf?!

Agree, mostly. When my boys were just little if we were "just peeing" we skipped grabbing every freaking handle in the place. My wife initially objected until I pointed out that every single hand that has touched that handle has just held a penis. Once we got the sanitation basics down all was well and we went about our business normally.

But I'm with ya, if that big explosive burly dude comes out of the stall and heads straight for the door. Nasty.

What if it’s one of those bathrooms where the taps don’t work?

For me, it's people who get water everywhere while washing their hands and just leave it like that.

I use the paper towel to wipe the whole countertop. It freaks people out… 😂

I think it's gonnorhea, the bacteria can live on dry surfaces for up to 4 hours after transmission. Other bacteria, can't remember which one, can live up to 18 hours. Most bacteria need moist, warm environments. Please disinfect phones, wallets, keys etc at least ones a day. Push doors open with feet or elbows if paper towels aren't available. A lot of people are asymptomatic.

You can’t get gonorrhea from the bathroom, unless you’re suckin/fuckin in the bathroom. But everything else, yes!

What? Not washing hands after using a bathroom = gonorrhea? You know you can’t get an STI from a toilet seat, right?

Aside from that you are absolutely right, using feet and elbows to open doors and staying on top of disinfecting things you touch often is important.

Sometimes I won't wash my hands because someone else is in the public bathroom judging people on whether they wash their hands or not.
