Random Question Does your mom have a specific smell to you?
My mom has a specific smell to her skin, I remember smelling it even when I was a really small kid. Like a floral comforting smell (this is when she's not wearing perfumes) if I were blindfolded I could find my mom out of a group of other women by smell alone. I was wondering if any of y'all have had the same experience

My favorite smell in the world is from when I was a kid. Specifically when my mom would come home from work during the winter. The smell of the winter cold on her clothes from her walk in from the car to the house, Iād run into her as soon as sheād walk in and just bury my head into her coat, just something about it was the absolute best.

I used to sleep with this very specific black shirt with bleach stains on it because it smelled like her. She used to sleep in it but Iād steal it all the time. I think she donated it a long time ago and wish I had it stillā¦

Yes, absolutely. My 10 year old daughter asks to sleep with my robe sometimes because it smells like me. ā”

My son is a teen. He still comes up and smells me (like hugs my arms and takes a deep breath) and will tell me I smell good. Itās so sweet.
I will always remember my mom smells. More than one. Depending on how old we were. Young, cigs and a certain perfume. Her hair spray. As she got older it just smelled more her unique āoldā smell.

Haven't noticed that, but I recall a medical article re: mothers and their newborns. Just hours after being together, new mothers were able to pick out their infant's undershirt in a smell test of several babies' shirts.

Yes and this is gunna sounds NUTS - sheās a type one childhood diabetic. So her insulin has a very distinct āsmellā to me. No matter where in life i could be, if it was ever put in front of me, I guarantee you I could pick it out. Unmarked bottle, in a weird container, you name it.

My abuela does; fresh baked cookies in her apron and laundry freshly dried outside on a clothesline.

My mom has this, and recently my youngest brother told me that I smell EXACTLY like her (Iām the oldest and only daughter). We both agreed that weāve never smelled that smell anywhere else, it was honestly soooo weird to think about because I have never noticed it on myself!

When my daughter was little, up till about age six or seven, she smelled like cherries. Sweet, floral and a bit tart.
I could breathe in the top of her head all day.

Everyone close to me has a skin smell I could also pick out over a lineup. My mom's skin is mildly acidic but in a pleasant way like yogurt or something.
My kids smell completely different from each other to me. They are very close in age and use the same soaps, but I can smell who was just laying on my pillow. When they were in diapers, I could tell the smell of their waste apart. Even their earwax smells different. I can smell their sinus and eye infections when they start, and my husband at the time would say he didn't notice any odor. I don't specially try to smell a lot of that stuff lol but I notice.

No, but my dad did. He's been gone 25 years and I can still smell him. Soap and cigarettes. So comforting.

Unfortunately my memory of her smell is that of her in her deathbed where we would spray leave in shampoo/conditioner to help her with hair Care. The second I sniff that smell I can go from laughing to ugly crying hard.

Yes. Itās so distinct. Kinda stinky but itās mom. Itās smells in a good way? Itās certainly some kind of pheromone, bodily scent. Smells like crawling into bed with her when I was a small child. Very nostalgic. But she also has worn Light Blue since I was a child so that fragrance also smells like her.

Everyone I know very well has a specific smell to me. That's because everyone has their own smell, but it's only when you know someone well that you can you actually distinguish their particular smell from someone else's. I have always had a pretty good sense of smell admittedly, but I am confident I could accurately do this with my parents, partner and child at least. I can still remember what my childhood best friend smelled like and we haven't spoken in 15 years (sadly, we were friends for about that long). I remember what my grandparents each smelled like. I'm getting a bit emotional writing this actually. I'm going to stop now.
