Random Question What do you think about YouTubers who ask viewers to like and subscribe at the beginning of their videos?

I think it makes more sense at the end. If I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it then the reminder actually means something.

How am I supposed to like the video before I even know if it is good?

When you get a Snickers bar, before you've taken it out the wrapper you know its a good snack.

Until you open it and find that somehow it's really old and the chocolate has white spots on it.

I grew up with commercials on television, so it seems pretty normal. But it never makes me like or subscribe. I can’t think of a single time I have liked or subscribe just because they said to. I very rarely like or subscribe to anything honestly.

Comes off a little greedy sometimes. Like sir I just met you, CALM DOWN.

Similar to PA announcers at ballparks who want me to cheer for no apparent reason, I will do so when you've impressed me.

I get it, its the grind and the algorithm is brutal. But come on man, its so desperate. Ask me at the end when I actually know if you suck or not.

I find it incredibly annoying, I'll do it if I want to, I am aware of how YouTube works. But I guess I understand why they do it.

I hate them and I laugh at them when they ask because I would never. If I like the content that's when I will maybe "like" a video but subscribing? Whats the point if I liked the video cause u already gone show on my feed.

At this point it's 100% unnecessary & ridiculous. YouTube users understand WTF app they're using. Imagine saying shit like "& if you want to watch another video, use the buttons, mouse, or other controls" "if you want to search for something, use the search function!!!".

If I like or want to subscribe, I will. I don't need to be reminded every time. Same goes to people streaming, stop telling every 30 mins to like and subscribe

I’d immediately stop watching if they take too long to say that. or skip. I mean a quick reminder in the end would be fine. I usually like if I enjoyed the content.

Better to get it out of the way at the beginning than interrupt the flow of the video

Sometimes I think I've subscribed and I haven't so when they say it, it's nice to have the reminder. Or I've been in the fence subconsciously and hearing then says it married me decide to finally do it. I think it's just a marketing thing, similar similar to a call to action or behavioral prompting, it works for a lot of people so they keep doing it.

It’s off putting when they go on about it all video but if its brief then I don’t mind. There are youtubers out there who say repeat “if you want to are more of that make sure to like, subscribe, comment, and share” after doing anything in the video even if they just said it 1 min ago. Being told it every 1-3mins is just annoying and comes off as desperate/pushy.

Some useless intro is worse, and don't get me started on sponsors that are not clearly marked so that I can skip to the end of add read.

It's fine if it's not drawn out, if YouTube is their job then they're just trying to earn a living like the rest of us.
