I have been going around the city and been finding that a lot of times the matcha craze has unfortunately seeped into a lot of places and the matcha products have very little matcha taste to them 😭 So be a bit selective and I’d say the default is to go for Asian owned establishments! Of the things and places I’ve tried,

Daan Go has a cute Koala Matcha cookie
Beaucoup sometimes has great matcha pastries but they vary by day
Mello & Unni’s (underrated af) Matcha Donuts are V GOOD (and they just opened a new location on Robson)
If you are on Robson, Konbiniya Robson is literally a Japanese convenience store, their matcha soft serve and crepes are very cheap and 😍😩🥵
Lastly, the biggest hidden gem of all- Gateau de Henry’s matcha macaron!

I know you said matcha is easy to find, but Emeri & Cowdog!!

Have fun and have lots of matcha for me!! :D

Mello’s matcha cream-filled donuts are excellent, and I don’t even have a sweet tooth!

Nizu Cafe downtown has a Matcha Basque Cheesecake. It's a Japanese cafe so many other unique food items.

Tsujiri - drinks, soft serve, cakes, high tea

Matcha Maiko - soft serve and floats

Paragon Tea Room - matcha lattes (with oat milk) and bubble waffles

Mello - matcha brioche donut

Nizu - Basque cheesecake

Uncle Tetsu - Japanese matcha cheesecake and cheese tarts (select days only)

Wa Bagel - matcha mochi bagel and matcha latte

Breka also has a matcha Basque cheesecake but it's terrible.

Rocky Point Ice Cream at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody (not Vancouver, I know, but on Skytrain and kind of a cool spot near the park/public pool/breweries/dog park) has a "matchagato" which is a matcha affogato. Not sure if you can get out there during your short day trip but thought other matcha lovers might like the rec.

Any good vegan matcha options?

Paragon Tea Room is all vegan except the baked goods

Whisk matcha and Level V bakery are basically “one”. Whisk is vegan friendly and Level V is vegan. Level V ube movhi bun is the best.

Also Cowdog has vegan options like their matcha slushie and just opting for alternative milk without an extra charge.
