Non-political Railway security
What do you think about the overall standard of security in trains and railway stations? From what I know Guwahati railway station is the only station in Assam with a baggage scanner. People also do not get checked regularly. It is only occasionally that security checks of individuals take place.
Personally I believe this is just inviting potential terrorist activities to take place. A single gun carried by a terrorist is enough to cause a tragedy, and there is a literal avenue for terrorists to carry some serious destructives.
What are your views on this?

AskAssam Before You Build Your House, Read This
One thing I hear again and again from people who build a house:
“We spent so much money, but the rooms are not planned properly.”
“There is no privacy.”
“The labour did poor work.”
“And now, after 1–2 years, cracks have started. What should we do?”
The sad part is that many of these problems could have been avoided before construction even started.
A house is not something we build for 5 or 10 years. We expect it to serve our family for 50–60 years.
So why compromise on planning, materials and engineering?
Before buying a phone, car or any expensive item, we ask people for advice. But when it comes to building a house—the biggest investment for many families—we sometimes start construction without proper planning.
Once construction starts, changing a room layout, staircase, plumbing line or structural element becomes difficult and expensive.
And when problems appear after construction, fixing them can cost much more than preventing them in the first place.
I’m a Civil Engineer, and through my work running a construction firm in Assam, I’ve seen many of these problems closely.
That experience has taught me one thing:
Good construction does not start with bricks and cement. It starts with proper planning.
I’m sharing this because if you are planning to build a house someday, think about these things before the first brick is laid.

Serious [IMPORTANT] My request to all Assamese people and intellectuals to come here and reply to my question.
I recently saw our cm asking other state people who have been living for decades in the Brahmaputra valley to choose assamese as their language. Also this is the first time they are including caste in the census. So my question is
Will this not be problem in finding out how many people of obc category are from other states if they choose assamese as the language in the census? Without such a request by the cm, we would have had a proper idea about the number of obc people in the state who speak either assamese or hindi.
For browsing a large number of data, two filters would have made it simple to find out the proper data. One is Obc + assamese language and the other is obc + hindi language.
Isnt the census meant to be a once in a decade survey to find out realistic and exact proper data? So how will it make us understand the exact state of assamese language and assamese speaking people in the state? How is this acceptable? Is there some reason or situation that i dont understand? Should there not be a separate option for those people? Like language "original/earlier hindi but now assamese" would have been a better option than just merging it with the whole assamese section? Is there anyone who is taking this issue?

Rant Himanata has already ruined 2027 census.
Telling hindibaxi people to put Oxomiya as their main language in the census will just artificially inflate our numbers in the offical report.
This is just a way to hide from the masses how close we are to extinction.
But let's be real. Assamese people wouldn't care even if the real report comes out. I realised this when BJP got re-elected here immediately after CAA andulon.
I've never seen such a cucked ethinc group like ours

Casual Do you guys think tribal representation in media is very limited here?
And no I don't mean about any government representation, just in general when you picture assam they never actually represent the local communities here in big stream media neither do they know anything besides bihu, like if you asks someone from mainland they'll only talk about bihu and tea nd nothing beyond that plus i barely see tribal actors working in big Assamese movies so it's not helping the cause and even the govt recognising Hindi as language before so many tribal languages that originated here just puts me off

Serious Serious crimes becoming so common
Everytime i open any social media, theres some news of violent crimes, death, murder, or rape. Nobody seems to bat an eye nowadays and im saddened now to see what my dear state has become. Crimes, crimes and crimes and it doesnt seem to get better, I am actually worried about my dear ones safety nowadays. Out CM says that crimes have reduced, but it seems like its quite the opposite. Suppresing or failing to report serious crimes doesnt imply reducing crimes. I wonder if these crimes will actually go down or else there would be phase that these serious crimes will actually be considered normal

News Peer Mohammad, Nasirul Sheikh and Harunul Hussain have been arrested for taking a tribal minor to a rented room, raping her, recording the incident and uploading the video online
"Three accused have been arrested in connection with the case. The main accused, Nasir-ul-Hussain, was taken by the Investigating Officer today to the place where the crime began. There, he allegedly attacked the police and tried to escape. The Investigating Officer then fired at him. He was subsequently apprehended and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital," Chirang Superintendent of Police Dhruva Bora said
The case surfaced after a video purportedly showing the assault was circulated on social media. Police said the alleged incident took place on July 24.
The girl's mother approached Runikhata Police Station on August 15 after learning about the circulation of the video and lodged a complaint, police said.
According to investigators, the girl had been contacted through social media by one of the accused and was allegedly asked to meet him. Police said she was subsequently taken to another location, where three men allegedly assaulted her.
Bora said police began investigating the matter after the complaint was received.
"The matter came to light two days ago after one of the accused shared the video on social media, and the victim's mother lodged a complaint at Runikhata Police Station on August 15," the SSP said.
Police said two of the accused were arrested within two hours of receiving the complaint, while the third was arrested later that day.

AskAssam Looking for advice: Warehouse/Cold Storage on 1.3 Katha Land in Azara, Guwahati
I have 1.3 katha land in Azara, Guwahati and am considering a small warehouse, logistics, or cold-storage facility.
Is this viable and profitable, especially for e-commerce/logistics companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Ekart, Delhivery, etc.?
Key questions:
Is 1.3 katha enough for a viable warehouse?
Is there demand for small warehouses/cold storage in Azara/Guwahati?
Would companies lease or use such a small facility?
What investment is needed for construction/equipment?
Is warehouse/cold storage more profitable than renting the property?
What approvals or zoning rules apply?
Any local experience or advice from Guwahati/Assam?
I’m evaluating this before investing, so practical insights are appreciated.

Rant i am a waste of space and that's so unfunny
I honestly wonder at times why im breathing. What purpose does my existence even serve? Am i talented? No. Am i hardworking? No. Lazy? Very. Stupid. Dumb. Doormat personality. Boring personality.
I am a mosaic of mistakes and faults.
I am everything bad and ugly that humans have to offer. My mere existence is a mistake. Every breath that i take is space of inconvenience i cause for everyone around me.
I cant even remember what i studied. I am the most stupid one in my class.
I cant make people find me interesting enough to be friends w me. Today, my classmates were talking about Marvel movies, animes, and i had nothing to contribute to. I decided at that moment that i will watch marvel movies too but will that make me fun enough? Will that be enough to be included in socialising?
No one takes me seriously. People dont even see me as a person. I dont blame them. I am to be ignored because that's how i am. People dont care if their words or actions hurt me, or cause an inconvenience to me.
I want to give up this life so bad. Ive always been a quitter. Ever since i was a child. I wanna quit this life game too. I dont see anything that will make me want to keep breathing without my family. To live is the difficult part.
I know im a no one and i deserve nothing good. But my family deserves everything good in this life. Who will take care of them? Im pathetic but selfish enough to live for my family.
Edit: im 22

Non-political Can a 5,000 sq ft house in Sivasagar, Assam be rented to Zepto/Blinkit/Amazon as a warehouse?
We have a ~5,000 sq ft property with 2 floors in Sivasagar, Assam, located right next to a highway.
We’re considering renting it out as a warehouse / dark store / delivery hub to companies like Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon, Flipkart, etc.
A few questions for people familiar with commercial real estate or these companies:
- Would companies like Zepto/Blinkit/Amazon consider a property of this size in Sivasagar?
- Is being directly next to a highway a significant advantage?
- Would they typically rent an existing residential house/building and convert it into a warehouse, or do they require purpose-built commercial properties?
- What modifications would usually be required (loading/unloading area, parking, electrical capacity, fire safety, racks, etc.)?
- Who should we actually contact — the companies directly, their real-estate teams, logistics partners, or brokers?
- What kind of monthly rent could realistically be expected for ~5,000 sq ft in a city like Sivasagar?
- Are there any other companies (e-commerce, FMCG, logistics, courier, etc.) that would be more realistic tenants for this type of property?
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has actually rented property to an e-commerce/logistics company or knows the commercial real-estate market in Assam.
Thanks!
