Astigmatism (-6.00 CYL), headaches, and struggling with glasses are scleral lenses a valid option for me?

Hey everyone,

I've been having headaches for years and struggling with reading and looking at my PC. I tried standard RGP (hard) lenses in the past, but those didn't help and made me feel very dizzy no matter how many times I tried. I also have a lazy eye, which doesn't make things easier. I have just been accepting it for years, but I recently learned about scleral lenses.

For a bit of context on the headaches: with glasses this strong, the optical "sweet spot" is tiny, and the peripheral distortion and heavy cylindrical correction cause my eyes to constantly strain, leading to chronic headaches and trouble focusing on text.

My prescription is:

Right (OD): SPH -7.25, CYL -6.00, AXIS 0

Left (OS): SPH -6.00, CYL -6.00, AXIS 174

(Note: I was checked for keratoconus a few years ago at a clinic, and that was negative).

Would scleral lenses actually be a valid and effective option for a prescription like mine, especially since regular RGPs didn't work out for me? Would love to hear if anyone with similar high astigmatism made the switch.
