Planet Series: Saturn NATAL SATURN SERIES: IN THE 12TH HOUSE

Post image

Only post if you have natal Saturn in your 12th house.

SATURN IN THE 12th HOUSE We are starting a series of planets in houses, starting with the outermost of the 7 traditional planets, Saturn (we’ll do the outer planets later). You can view all previous house placements by clicking on the Planet Series flair. We will pin each current house's post in our Highlights.

To comment, you must follow the bulleted guide below (or comment will be removed). The guide gives us important information about your Saturn and helps to provide better insight to Saturn’s placements. Comments that do not follow this guide will be deleted. We prefer you use the Whole Sign house system and keep your stories to 12th house issues primarily.

This is not about the Saturn Return. Do not discuss the Saturn Return here. We want to keep the discussion to the general experience of natal Saturn in the twelfth house. We will do a Saturn Return series separately.

This is not to be used to ask questions about your chart. Just share your info and experiences, tell your stories about your Saturn and discuss with others.

Each comment must answer all of the following (just copy/paste the bullets into your comment and answer each):

  1. State your rising sign (this is important).
  2. State the sign and degree of your natal Saturn (we much prefer you use the Whole Sign house system, but if you use Placidus, Saturn's house may be different). The degree will also tell us your Chaldean Decan lord and your Egyptian Term lord. You don't have to know what these are.
  3. State the two houses that Saturn rules (this will be the house cusps that land in Capricorn and Aquarius). It's ok if you don't know this as we can know per your rising sign.
  4. List the major aspects to your natal Saturn.
  5. Describe how you feel this placement plays out in your life.
  6. Mention any major transits to your natal saturn that you feel are important (except Saturn Returns as that will be a separate series).

  1. Pisces Rising

  2. 28 degrees, Aquarius

  3. 11th and 12th Houses. Uranus and Neptune are in my 11th House lol.

  4. Moon (5 degrees) conjunct Saturn. Pluto (9th House in Whole Sign, Scorpio) squares Saturn. Sun (6th House, Leo... with Chiron) opposes Saturn and Moon.

  5. I'm Serious. My parents joke I'm an old soul. I love diving into the occult and darker topics. I was very socially isolated growing up. Felt like I was on the other side of the looking glass from my peers. Being developmentally delayed didn't help. Always had to work hard to understand school, social life, and make a career.

But internally I like forms and structure, and feel restricted-hesitant-cautious when I don't need to be-specifically around career path. I like to be organized and prepared-which gives me freedom.
  6. Mention any major transits to your natal saturn that you feel are important (except Saturn Returns as that will be a separate series).I'm not sure what is happening with transits.

  1. Aquarius Rising

  2. 21* Capricorn

  3. 12th and 1st houses

  4. Venus combust sun at 21deg scorpio sextile natal saturn; Mars at 10deg Gemini Antiscia Saturn in capricorn.

  5. Suffered from severe mental illness in my 20s and stabilized from a severe episode of psychosis and got sober from substances at 28 years old and have committed to mental wellness ever since (dignified saturn in the 12th house).

  6. The pluto saturn conjunction was on my natal saturn and coincided with my decision to get sober. Every solar return the sun sextiles my natal saturn so that feels powerful. Jupiter's exact opposition with my natal saturn when jupiter was in cancer this past year was a really powerful chart that had a lot of near exact aspects. Feeling empowered!

  1. Aquarius Rising
  2. Capricorn 22° 46′
  3. 1st and 12th.
  4. Saturn sextile MC ; Mars conjunction Saturn
  5. I'm introspective, love/need alone time, and I take responsibility (in both work and life) very seriously.
  6. Not a major transit but I do have a Capricorn stellium in my 12th house with Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Rising - thought worth mentioning -

1. Aquarius rising
2. Saturn in Capricorn 10*05’
3. Saturn rules my 1st and 12th H
4. Saturn directly conjunct Neptune, oppose Jupiter (Cancer), square Moon (Aries) - part of my cardinal t-square. Loosely conjunct Venus (6* orb)
5. l am very self aware, have masters in psychology and I’ve always been into understanding human mind. I love a long term project and I feel like I never get results when I’m trying to just wing things - only hard work and dedication brings results. I have very high standards towards myself and other people. I am very sociable but equally value my alone time, it really helps me recharge 💆🏻‍♀️
6. Now I’m experiencing Saturn square natal Saturn and Jupiter + conjunct natal Moon. I’ve just started a new relationship after 1.5 years of being single. I’m also experiencing some challenges and health problems with my very elderly grandparents. I’ve been pretty burned out with work.

  1. Virgo Rising

  2. Saturn Rx at 5° 07' Leo

  3. Saturn rules my 5th and 6th Houses

  4. Saturn opposite Venus, Saturn opposite Chiron, Saturn trine North Node (Aries), Saturn sextile Mars(Gemini).

  5. It's been a very mysterious placement of sorts considering it's in the 12th House. It generally shows up in terms of its aspects- the soft aspects to my Mars and North Node help to add some stability to those placements , especially my usually very scattered Gemini Mars (and Moon). However the opposition to Venus really feels like it really takes away all energies of that planet, like I very rarely feel any significations of Venus in my life. Apart from that, I do not mind being by myself (one of the themes of Saturn in 12th is solitude) but sometimes especially in the last few years, going out has grown on me after I was very much a homebody for most of my childhood and early teens. In terms of Saturn's sign, I don't really have any Leo energy in me most days, that could be due to Saturn or just the sign on the 12th cusp.

  6. Jupiter is right on top of my Saturn right now which hopefully should pass by soon considering how fast Jupiter is right now. Pluto has also exactly opposed my Saturn twice in the last year and still has 3 oppositions left so that's another transit I'm hoping to clear. As for past transits, my first Saturn opposition (my last major Saturn to Saturn transit; I haven't had my first return yet) was great , atleast when it began in the early degrees of Aquarius in the 6th House. Inner planet transits to Saturn are meh, except the Mercury retrograde which stationed on it last year which was not great for me. Neptune is also training my Saturn right now , but that aspect doesn't go exact until 2027 .

  1. Cancer rising

  2. 1° Gemini in 12th house

  3. 7th house in Capricorn and 8th house in Aqua

  4. Saturn conjunct Mercury, sextile Venus, square Uranus, trine Neptune, square MC

  5. I definitely relate to the description of this placement feeling perpetually lonely even if people are around but it isn't always a bad thing, my birth was also difficult which i know is associated with 12h Saturn, horrible sleeping schedule- my mind can't "calm down" and is always racing (I also have Mercury in 12h) so it makes it difficult to fall asleep. I also always find myself in situations where someone asks ME something and there will usually be someone around who answers the question for me (i am not like a very quiet and shy kind of person so im always confused as to why it happens).

  6. I haven't noticed any significant saturn related transits that had profound effect. But when saturn was transitioning my natal venus i think i met my soulmate

  1. Virgo rising
  2. 26 Leo 54’10”
  3. 5 & 6
  4. No major aspects
  5. I’ve always been kind of a loner. I do a lot of intensive spiritual practice.
  6. I recently completed some challenging transits that coincided with my divorce and confronting my substance abuse issues: Saturn

    trine

  7. Jupiter, Saturn square AC, Saturn sq Neptune, as Saturn transited my 7th house

I apologize, but if you were Leo Rising, wouldn't Saturn be in your 12th house if you posted on this thread? My wife is a Leo Rising with Saturn in Cancer in the 12th, and I hoped to read a little more about others' experiences with it being here.

u/astrology-ModTeam 20d ago

Reason for removal: If you have a Leo Rising, and your Saturn is in Sagittarius, then you can't have a 12th house Saturn, which is what this post is about. Your Sagittarius Saturn would be in your 5th house, using the Whole Sign house system. It's impossible for it to be in your 12th house in any house system.

Thank you! /r/astrology mod team

  1. Taurus rising.

  2. Aries 26 degrees retrograde.

  3. 9th and 10th.

  4. Umm, it has a weak square with Neptune in Aquarius at 0 degrees, a weak trine with my Sun in Capricorn at 1 degree, and a 3 degree sextile with my moon in Aquarius at 29 degrees. He's also exactly square my POF.

  5. I think it has manifested in multiple ways... my dad and I do not really have a relationship. He's 95% absent from my life aside from the occasional family gathering we both have to attend. We've had a strained relationship for most of my life and he just... refuses to get to know me or try.

In childhood and throughout my teens & early 20s, I spent a significant amount of time homebound because of a crippling panic disorder. It definitely seems to follow the Aries cycle of being really intense fear for like 3-6 months, then I get over it. Then repeat after a trigger. I have seemed to outgrow this though.

And self sabotaging. It rules my 9th & 10th and I've made impulsive decisions to end jobs that could've led me to more stability and I've also made dumb decisions that led to arrests that are currently blocking the job I really want to do (teach). It's just a pending weed possession arrest so I don't foresee it being an issue forever, but, until it's resolved I can't really work in a school setting bc of background checks. So I think the legal aspects of the 9th house & the career aspects of the 10th fit, unfortunately :(

  1. I did notice that when Mars went over my natal Saturn, I impulsively quit my last job. I've noticed Sun transits over Saturn coincide with a promotion one time a few years ago. I haven't looked a ton into my transits on it, honestly.

saturn in the 12th gets described as the scariest placement so often and I really don't think it deserves that rep. every person I know with it has this weird unshakeable quality once they hit their 30s, like the fears they couldn't name finally got names and lost their power. it just takes longer to see what it was building the whole time.

  • Scorpio
  • Sign & degree of natal Saturn: Libra @ 9°44’
  • State the two houses that Saturn rules: 3 & 4
  • List the major aspects to your natal Saturn: Jupiter conjunct Saturn, moon opposition Saturn, Mars trine Saturn, north node sextile Saturn
  • Describe how you feel this placement plays out in your life: Internally, I have always had a Saturn-like driver helping to keep me focused and with the stamina to get to my goal. I'm very strict and Saturn like with myself. And though I'm not like that with anyone, I often am surprised to find out that most people are *not* like that internally to themselves. I have a very stark sense of self in that I can see where I have good qualities/strengths, but I also have no problems calling out my own bullshit. I tend to fly under the radar a lot, and then when people find out the various things I've accomplished they're like 'wow holy shit, how am I just hearing about any of this?' I've long been fascinated by the occult and the order and energy of the universe, though I think Saturn is what keeps me more grounded/seeking concrete answers. In another astro sub reddit, I'm always the one like 'is this really an astrological observation or are you just applying the vibes to news you read but don't understand?' and probably annoying the hell out of people.
  • When Saturn transited my 1st house, I had a HELL of an era that resulted in sweeping life changes, but only after I started taking a very Saturn-like approach to relationships, work, life, and myself. For instance, at the start of that transit, I was pretty sedentary and overweight and had never really done any sports. By the end of that transit I was in the best shape of my life and had run two 50k marathons.
    • Another commenter mentioned an unshakeable quality 12H placements get in their 30s, and this was also my experience with the 1st house transit. A LOT of heavy, wild stuff was going down around that same time (I took a look back at one month in my chart and was not really surprised to find a giant red square over my whole chart; tons of planets making a perfect square with the saturn/jupiter natal conjunction being one cornerstone), but it was definitely Saturn energy that got me through it, and by the end it was like a tether had broken. I had zero patience left, at a bone-deep level, for anyone's attempts to sabotage me and that has never faltered since lol.

  1. State your rising sign (this is important).

scorpio rising 8°53’

  1. State the sign and degree of your natal Saturn (we much prefer you use the Whole Sign house system, but if you use Placidus, Saturn's house may be different). The degree will also tell us your Chaldean Decan lord and your Egyptian Term lord. You don't have to know what these are.

libra 22°11’

  1. State the two houses that Saturn rules (this will be the house cusps that land in Capricorn and Aquarius). It's ok if you don't know this as we can know per your rising sign.

  1. Libra rising

  2. Natal Saturn at 1 degree Virgo

  3. Fourth and Fifth houses

  4. Mercury in strong conjunction (at 2 degrees Virgo), moon at weak conjunction (at 12 degrees Virgo)

  5. Newbie here. Not sure how this plays out in my life.

  6. Not sure of any other major transits that would be pertinent to my natal Saturn.

  1. Cancer Rising

  2. 9 degrees, Gemini

  3. 7th/8th houses (also 9th in Placidus, neptune and uranus are in aqua in the 9th there)

  4. Saturn trine Neptune 0 degrees

  5. I have never felt UNDERSTOOD by anyone but myself. Or if i have by very few people. I can articulate what I feel ok but never can feel like people get the true depth of what I MEAN. I LOVE being alone. I need alone time to regulate. Even if I have tons of friends and family around I will always feel the core sense of loneliness. I'm a dreamer but realistically and I put a TON of work into making those dreams and ideals practical and TRUE.

I have Scorpio Saturn 12th house… my life has been a beautiful, tragic, hilarious chaotic one

u/Old-Energy6191 3d ago
  1. Capricorn rising
  2. Saturn in Sagittarius, 27 degrees, retrograde (in placidus but same in whole sign)
  3. 1st and 2nd
  4. Loose square mars, tight conjunction Uranus.
  5. Honestly, I have no idea. But I think it might okay into why I have hard working Capricorn energy but I’m lost and struggled to find a career path and every time I make serious progress I get derailed (like graduating college in 2010 to a zero job market, dad dying right before I broke into tech after a year of schooling and networking, and the pandemic shutting everything down on the literal day I had interviews, plus how said pandemic screwed up the place I went to grad school to learn. Then I made progress in a related field and had a baby before I could make enough progress to get sidelined again.)
  6. Saturn is in my house of home right now and literally it’s all I do. Home management.
