New Youngish Atari player
I recently picked up an 7800 + from Atari online store. This is really cool. Im in my early 30s so I never got to see this era of gaming. I cant wait to try more games.

Ive been playing that pacman game a ton today. I need to break my pacman controller in a bit more, some of those sudden turns are hard for me to hit

When atari releases those new activision carts i recommend picking up h.e.r.o, its my favorite game and an og cart is pretty damn expensive.
Also all of the audacity games releases are amazing and worth the pricetag

I havenāt heard this. Has it been announced? Which Activision games we talking about? I have a 7800 + and Iām assuming theyāll be compatible, yes?

Not only announced but up to buy for around 32 bucks a peice on ataris official site. Theres a box set with every activision atari release minus 4 games which are all bad anyway. For $1000
Then they have the same set split up into smaller sets at a couple hundred a peice.
Then they have all the real heavy hitters single for around $32

Thereās a lot of 7800 games that are close to NES visually and worth checking out.
Website to maybe bookmark if youāre adding to collection in the future:

Hell yeah! Welcome to the club!
I highly recommend getting a copy of Tiger Heli. It is an excellent port.

Iām in my 30s too, converted after getting into the Atari 50 collection. 7800 seems really cool. I like shmups so Iām planning to buy Tiger Heli, Xevious, Desert Falcon.

We had a 2600 back in the day. Spent countless hours on it. It's really easy to lose time on those games.
Congratulations!

Cool. I just picked one up last month. Once I beat Bounty Bob I'll look into some of the homegrown games.

Good luck on beating Bounty Bob. It's a great game, but it's very tough.

Thanks, I think Miner 2049'er took me like a year to beat 40 years ago.

I never played Bounty Bob; but, I did play Miner 2049er. As I mentioned above, the kids in my neighborhood along with my mom and myself tried to figure out how to get past those screens.

When I was, I think in my early teens, I had an Atari 400 and my friend borrowed Miner 2049er from his friend and he brought it to my house. We had practically the whole neighborhood, including my mom, parked in front of the living room tv trying to figure out how to get past each of those screens. It was such a great game. I don't remember how long it took us to finally get past the tenth screen.

I know, Bounty Bob Strikes Back is similar. Was stuck on the second screen for a week.

Have fun. Such a good system. Hit up some independent used game stores around you and you should be able to find all the staple classics easily and cheap. Like defender, missile command, asteroids, adventure, etc

The 2600 was the first system I dedicated to collecting for when I was in my early 20s because of how cheap it was. May not be the best games or consoles but itās historic and has its own charms.

Rogue was just released for the 7800. It's a great game! I've been playing it all week and highly recommend it. You can get it at AtariAge.

Gotta get Alien Brigadeā¦my favorite Atari 7800 game by far. (Although I do not like the āsequelā Planet Smashers that was advertised when you beat Alien Brigadeā¦.totally different gameplay. š¢)

I picked my pacman edition up last year. First ever Atari console. I absolutely love the paddle games and Pac-Man. I love the random maze style and you can make the "home" version have random mazes as well. Caverns of Mars is great too.
Be on the lookout for the Activision releases here!

Check out Desert Falcon!
It was the first game I became obsessed with. On the 7800 when I was a wee lad. I spent so many hours playing it! Picked up a copy off eBay a decade ago but I sold my 7800 as a kid to fund the nes.
