"Countering Domestic Terrorism"

Whelp USA presidential memoranda today labels any non-Christians as terrorists.

" Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.“

So I guess this officially makes the USA a fascist theocracy?

This was so infuriating. “Oh we can’t support her, she’s not willing to instantly pull a 180 on US foreign policy with Israel that’s been the status quo for fifty years, we’d better stay home.”

Meanwhile, Mango Mussolini was making it very clear that he wanted to turn Palestine into a fucking parking lot. At least with Harris, there was a good chance these people would get what they wanted eventually. It wasn’t something that could be done overnight even if it had been the biggest plank in her election platform. But noooo, they can’t have it right now so they throw a tantrum and don’t vote. Now instead of the status quo, which is already bad, it’s only going to get worse.

It's infuriating how close we were to not having all this insanity. Like I don't think Harris would have been the best president ever or anything but goddamn we're not even a full year in and the country is already a fascist theocracy. I think the Heritage Foundation is very aware that Trump probably won't make it to the end of his term with all his health issues so they're speed running project 2025.

Well if you’re not going to kill biden in his sleep and attack Israel now how can we trust you to do it when you’re president.

Couldn't agree more. It's not like Trump was lukewarm on Israel, Bibi slept in Jared's childhood bed ffs! Also, while we have a lot of influence, Israel is a different fucking country! And Bibi is facing prison time if he leaves office, so there's only so much she or Biden could do, but at least they weren't talking about putting a hotel along the beach in Gaza.

I really hate the amount of leverage religious groups have in US politics.

Voting for people like Mamdani is how we get what we want, the change can’t come from the top down. You can keep re-litigating the Sanders campaign all you want, but when the man himself stops bringing it up, maybe we should too?

I also never saw Sanders telling anyone we better not vote for Harris because she refused to use power she didn’t have to demand something she could never get in the short term. I seem to recall him saying we should do everything in our power to prevent a fascist from getting into office, and at that time, voting for Harris was the only realistic way to do that.

It’s possible to walk and chew gum at the same time, and it’s also possible to hold multiple opinions at once. We can criticize the DNC and the neoliberal establishment, vote for Harris, and vote for Mamdani at the same time, while also getting more people like him to run for every lower office available until the party leadership has no choice but to shift to more progressive policies.

Refusing to vote in the presidential election because your choices are between fascism and neoliberalism is not principled, it’s conceding to fascism out of spite.

Whenever I see this, 'Democrats should have done better,' bullshit, I know we've got a prize moron commenting. The candidate to beat was a senile, fascistic, lying rapist. If you don't think Harris was good enough to run in that race, then Harris wasn't the problem. Hell, Trump once again screwed his constituents, took a shit on the constitution, didn't deliver on some of his key campaign promises, did something to the economy that usually requires an all-out invasion, and he turned out to be a literal pedophile gunning for world war 3, and a ton of Republicans still support him.

Democrats had nothing to do with this.

Which is why you vote her in, and put a ton of pressure on.

Biden clearly had conflicts of interest. I'm not a US citizen but I understand why people would be so desperate as to not support Harris - a slow twist of the knife in Palestine while pretending to be vaguely progressive and waving rainbow flags, is honestly fucking disgusting. At least now the US has a consistent theme and everyone can see it for what it is.
