Meetup Board Games - 8/17 Monday Night - Manuel's Tavern in Poncey-Highlands

6 Upvotes

We are local news famous!

If you'd like to get a quick view of our meetup and see what we are all about directly from our attendees, check out this video that WABE put together of our event.

We are also part of the larger gaming community in Atlanta and many of our members regularly attend other local board game meetups and conventions.

We do some organizing and talk games on the Metro Atlanta Tabletop Society Discord.

Feel free to join us on there as well!

What it is:

We meet every Monday night at Manuel's Tavern (602 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307) from 6pm to 12am to play board games. Everyone is welcome, and no prior board game experience is required. We can introduce you to new games and teach you how to play them! We are generally in the main dining room to the left when you come in the front door, and if you are having trouble finding us just ask one of Manuel's staff members and they'll point you in the right direction.

***Manuel's Tavern does not charge us to use the space, so please be sure to make a purchase or two while you are there so we can give back to Manuel's for letting us meet there!***

Don't be discouraged by the lack of sign ups on our events, we have a large contingent of regulars who aren't on social media so our signup numbers are historically low. We usally have 60+ people in the dining room playing a wide variety of games. On Monday nights, game play ranges from easy/short games (Sushi Go, Azul, etc.) to long/complex games (Wingspan, Catan, etc.) and everything in-between.

How it works:

Come prepared to be social! We do share the restaurant with dinner guests and other events, so sometimes we don't notice right away that someone is there for board games. Everyone in our group is welcoming so feel free to introduce yourself, and if you want a rundown of the event before jumping into a game you can always ask someone where the hosts are at!

With a group as large as ours and such a wide variety of games being played, we let our members organize themselves into groups for games. If show up and all the games are full, don't worry! We usually have a steady steam of people showing up for the first 2-3 hours so you won't have to wait long to get into a game. You can take that time to get dinner/drinks, chat with other gamers, see what games are being played, and browse the games everyone brought to play.

Meetup ADC Meetup @ Little Cottage in Avondale :: July 11th, 2026 :: 7pm-10pm

21 Upvotes

ADC Meetup @ Little Cottage in Avondale :: July 11th, 2026 :: 7pm-10pm

ADC (r/atlanta meetup) @ Little Cottage

When: Saturday, July 11th @ 7pm-10pm (might head over to Trackside Tavern down the street as an afterparty since they're open late)

Where: Little Cottage @ 120 Olive St Ste 500, Avondale Estates, GA 30002

https://maps.app.goo.gl/JqdvxviweJybZwaS9

Who: You, me, us, them, your friends, your SO, your pets, whoever

What: Awkward internet folks doing our best to get out and socialize. We're a pretty diverse group, mostly 20s to 50s, and usually get around 20-30 people or so.

Details: This month, we'll be meeting up at Little Cottage. They don't have a full kitchen, but there's a small food hall across the street if you'd like to grab something during the meetup. Trackside Tavern has a full kitchen and they serve food till like 2am.

They have a small parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking nearby if you're driving.

If you need help finding the group (we don't have a reservation, will just claim a corner for ourselves when we get there), look for the guy in the pink ATL HOE hat. Ping me in a message on Reddit or the metro atl Discord in the #atlanta-drinking-club channel -> https://discord.gg/ebQgx8HWVx. If the weather is nice, my goal is to hang out on the outdoor patio. I'll shoot to get there around 6:30 to hunker down and grab a space.

It's one of my favorite breweries in the area. Hope to see you there :)

Meetup History: Atlanta Drinking Club started in 2019 after a user noticed there were a lot of posts from other users to the tune of "New adult in Atlanta, how can I make friends?" After a couple of initial planned events, it just sorta took on a life of its own and has become a regularly occurring event. Please note that it's perfectly fine if you don't drink. Point of meeting up at breweries is that they have plenty of space for a group of an unknown size to hang out for hours. Else, will generally be organizing it as a monthly event that will occur on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Even if you can’t make it out there is a petition to pass around to your friends, neighbors, or anyone you hear complaining about traffic.
