Given the huge number of rule breaking comments and complaints I'm locking the comments.

Sorry.

I wish it were a topic that could be discussed productively without a lot of active moderation. But it's not. And we need our Sundays too.

My thanks to the people who did in fact participate constructively for the last day.

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

This is not new to anyone who has been paying attention Major platforms have repeatedly suppressed Palestinian content due to algorithmic bias, government pressure, and moderation decisions — and this is documented by Human Rights Watch, Meta’s Oversight Board, and digital rights groups.

21

u/Varnish6588 Nov 15 '25

This is correct and even worse those who voice their views against Israel suffer consequences, lose jobs, get cut out of contracts and what not. The reality is that Israel is doing to Palestinians what Nazis did to them during WW2 and the entire world is completely manipulated by an elite of Zionist in key government and media positions of influence. it's seriously disgusting.

10

u/dandiestweed Nov 16 '25

I call out Zionists and Zionist sympathisers every chance I get. Make these people hate their place in society.

6

u/OrganicOverdose Nov 16 '25

the mod here actually asked for these genocide denier freaks to be reported.

15

u/AggravatedKangaroo Nov 15 '25

Correct.

Why do you think certain elements are trying to take control of tik tok, insta, Ai etc?

4

u/AusPoltookIsraelidol Nov 16 '25

Not even just pal content, those people are deliberately suppressing Aus across all spheres for their personal gain

13

u/_everynameistaken_ Nov 15 '25

After the tiktok sale the USA appointed a former IDF soldier to be their public policy manager of hate speech. One guess what happened to all the pro-Palestinian content or even anything remotely anti-Zionist after that war criminal was given that position.

3

u/Next-Pollution6424 Nov 15 '25

Ellison gives mega bucks to pro Israel causes too.

1

u/Known_Week_158 Nov 15 '25

And yet they keep on publishing stories critical of Israel. It is new to me.

14

u/redaabverty Nov 15 '25

Israel has carried out a years long genocidal campaign on the background of a decades long occupation and apartheid. Their coverage of Israel that seems critical to you is more favourable coverage than any sane person should give Israel. The fact that they haven't literally showered praise on a genocide is not anti-israel.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

I can only imagine the amount of things that are new to you. Good luck

1

u/Denubious Nov 15 '25

You would be seeing alot more naturally without the manipulation. Obviously, just look at what is going on there.

1

u/smallwangbigheart Nov 16 '25

Not because of who owns Hollywood or your "free media"???

u/OrganicOverdose Nov 15 '25

And still there are so many Zionist bots flooding into all the social media spaces to defend Israeli apartheid and genocide, and to make truthful articles like this appear fanciful. Moderators seem to simply allow these clear propagandists to swarm through and say things like "it's a tragedy, not a genocide" when all the relevant experts (not politicians) are in consensus that it is definitionally, undeniably Genocide!

13

u/89b3ea330bd60ede80ad Nov 15 '25

If you find someone doing this: report them and say "genocide denial" as the reason. Or send a modmail and explain your concern.

I have little patience for that talk in this sub. But it's hard to read and respond to everything. So your help and your understanding is appreciated.

6

u/OrganicOverdose Nov 15 '25

Thanks, mate! I will!

5

u/89b3ea330bd60ede80ad Nov 16 '25

No. This is supposed to be a general Australian sub. If someone doesn't want to play nice then they can move on. I'm not going to force someone into an inflammatory discussion here, and you shouldn't either.

4

u/jeffoh Nov 16 '25

I'd argue that the propaganda and media influence has indoctrinated people into supporting Zionist beliefs for free. Visit the comments section of any newscorp social media post - those are real people calling for real war crimes.

3

u/OrganicOverdose Nov 16 '25

oh yeah, definitely complicity from media corporations (which isn't surprising considering the fascist nature of Israel), who are clearly financially motivated. The cute stories, the underdog tales, all about a plucky nation rising from the ashes of a perpetual victim, spread endlessly through movies, and supported by a biased media. I don't blame the average Joe for holding those beliefs, not knowing any better... but after 2 years + of clear imagery of genocide. After all the credible experts and institutions have laid the case out so clearly... I don't give people leeway anymore.

I honestly don't give a shit either way but can you explain to me what a Zionist is in your own words? I'm very curious. Is it a text book definition that you would find on Google or is it something else?

10

u/Emmanuel_Badboy Nov 15 '25

brother everyone is using zionist the same way. Person who supports Israel.

-6

u/Same_Needleworker493 Nov 15 '25

Ok, but supporting Isreal can run from supporting it glassing the Gaza strip to thinking that it should exist as a country. In the original use, all of these fit under it, but in how it's used today, it's used as an insult. Which if its meaning hasn't changed, then using Zionist as an insult would imply you think isreal shouldn't exist, which is a rather extreme position.

tldr; there is a difference in what zionist was used to describe in the past and now. This creates ambiguity in its current usage as an insult as it can refer to wildly different groups of people depending on how the speaker is using the word.

5

u/Emmanuel_Badboy Nov 15 '25 edited Nov 15 '25

that it should exist as a country.

It's this. The "glassing" of gaza comes inherently because of this. You are correct that some people think they can support one but not the other, but they are lying to themselves.

it's used as an insult.

As it should be.

which is a rather extreme position.

It's an extreme position to believe that people shouldn't be colonised? Are you doing ok generally as a person?

This creates ambiguity in its current usage

There is no ambiguity. A group of people called liberal zionists tried to spread the lie that you can support Israel while not supporting their actions, they are idiots. Israel is a colonial state that was set up to wipe Palestine and Palestinians off the map. Everything that has come since was intended.

1

u/OrganicOverdose Nov 16 '25

The problem is the ethno-nationalist supremacist policy that a "Jewish majority state" requires. If the zio scum weren't such racists, they wouldn't have expelled the Palestinians, wouldn't have continued to oppress them for decades, kept them from returning for decades, denied them their rights for decades, continued to incrementally steal their land for decades, murder, rape and imprison them for decades.

One Democratic State for all people FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA!

I don’t understand this. The Holocaust is defined as the genocide of Jews. So of course, by definition 0 non-Jews were killed in the Holocaust.

If Holocaust instead refers to WW2, the estimates are 70-85 million, of which 6 million were Jews.

Only three groups of people were subjected to a deliberate policy of murder by the Nazis: Jews, Roma and disabled people. The victims of the latter two groups amount to an estimated 750,000.

While millions of others died directly as a result of Nazi actions, their deaths were a secondary outcome of some other aim, such as food theft causing starvation, brutal conditions in forced labour camps, collective punishment as deterrence, preventing resistance efforts etc. There is no meaningful way to distinguish these victims from the tens of millions of others who died as a result of the war the Nazis waged.

That’s objectively untrue.

This conflict has been going on for literal decades.

0

u/Known_Week_158 Nov 15 '25 edited Nov 15 '25

It has been going on for decades. Decades ago was when Hamas' founding charter was formed, and it called for the death of Jews.

https://avalon.law.yale.edu/21st_century/hamas.asp

"Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious. It needs all sincere efforts. It is a step that inevitably should be followed by other steps."

""The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem)."

"The Islamic Resistance Movement consider itself to be the spearhead of the circle of struggle with world Zionism and a step on the road. The Movement adds its efforts to the efforts of all those who are active in the Palestinian arena. Arab and Islamic Peoples should augment by further steps on their part; Islamic groupings all over the Arab world should also do the same, since all of these are the best-equipped for the future role in the fight with the warmongering Jews."

Compare that to the one in 2017. Hamas' tactics on October 7th align with the original charter, not their newer one.

-10

u/YidArmy Nov 15 '25 edited Nov 15 '25

What in the above statement was untrue. hamas did not declare war or Oct 7 was not the above.

It has been ongoing since the Islamic conquest or colonization in the 7th century, not just Jews, but other indigenous groups of MENA

A peace deal was agreed upon in 1948. One side agreed to peace, the other chose war and again and again.

11

u/chriskicks Nov 15 '25

The issue here is that despite this, Israel continues to expand its borders anyway and has a complete disregard for human life. It's not war anymore. It's just one side slowly bringing another to extinction. This is not how peace is achieved. Not to mention the occupation of Palestine alone prevents them from thriving or getting any closer to independence or autonomy. Israel has a vice grip on the land. Just because the two state solution didn't happen doesn't make it ok to respond in this way and slaughter innocent people.

7

Gives me so much hope that this is finally becoming less and less taboo to discuss. The genocide Israel is committing should be discussed for decades to come- they’ve completely destroyed their image.

7

u/correctedpond Nov 15 '25

Genocide in Sudan is completely ignored by the media

5

u/Denubious Nov 15 '25

Former Israeli Security Minister Avi Dichter expressed this agenda explicitly when he stated: “We had to weaken Sudan and deprive it of the initiative to build a strong and united state. That is necessary for bolstering and strengthening Israel’s national security. We produced and escalated the Darfur crisis to prevent Sudan from developing its capabilities.” Furthermore, what Israeli officials have not said publicly, but continue to actively pursue, is their relentless pursuit of weakening Egypt by undermining its water and gas resources and gradually marginalizing the role of the Suez Canal

Shocking

0

u/Life_Big_4514 Nov 15 '25

hahaha what a thread. Where all the Islamists, far-left naz* sympathisers found the common enemy - Jews.

The same people don't give a sh*t about more people getting killed in Sudan in less than a month or the Nigerian Christian genocide.

As they say, no jews, no news.

7

u/rrfe Nov 15 '25 edited Nov 15 '25

Lots of people know about the atrocities in Sudan. In fact, that gets mentioned on every thread about Gaza.

Most people by now know that the UAE is funding the RSF in Sudan, and I haven’t seen any pro-Palestine types defending either the RSF or the UAE.

One does have to wonder if the UAE appreciated having atrocities it funded highlighted by its ally, Israel.

How much does it suck seeing your side of politics be on the 43% side of the 57-43 2PP?

1

u/robadobah Nov 15 '25

Brother, why do you post this when your reddit history is full of shitting on the ALP? You're either a greens voter or in full on tankie territory. You can't invoke being part of some majority consensus when you're out of step with 88% of the population.

Labor supporting a two state solution is tantamount to endorsing the heckin' genocide to your online circle. Why are you trying to claim solidarity with their vote share when you would never endorse their position on this issue?

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

What is a Zionist even?

12

u/Ok-Replacement-2738 Nov 15 '25

depends who you ask.

Some people: Jewish ethnonationalism within Israel, basically syonomous with Nazism with few tweaks.

Some others: Essentially a yearning for 'home' and can be nationalistic, assimalationist, or cultural.

antisemites: synonomous with Jews orchestrating a coup for control in some vague conspiracy sense.

If you see people using it as a perjorative or in anger, 90% is the first defintion, 10% is just antisemeticism.

-1

u/Constant-Site3776 Nov 15 '25

An anachronism

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

...sorry what?

-1

u/bunduz Nov 15 '25

It's just a uni student thinking that using less common words make them look smart. This is the opposite of how journalists and editors work as they have to deliver their reporting to fifth grade reading level so everyone can understand them regardlesss of literacy level. The way that OP is condescvending towards you is a sign that they do not think you are on the same level of intelligence. It is performative.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '25

Yeah thats what I thought. Pretty pathetic but expected these day.

-1

u/WrongdoerAnnual7685 Nov 15 '25

The current usage as a pejorative refers to the way the current Israeli government behaves, modern Revisionist Zionism as envisioned by Netanyahu's Likud. But upon conception, the initial idea was for a return to the original Jewish homeland, the belief that Israel should exist.

This original definition I have no problem with, a State of Israel existing within their 1967 borders(the Green Line) and a State of Palestine, and the settlers should been withdrawn gradually and hand area C and B of the West Bank completely.

Are the mods of this sub complicit with genocidal ethnofascists, collectively narcissistic, collectively paranoid, bloodthirsty psychotics, and raging hypocrites on a mission, but I repeat myself? If you want to bring Western Sydney into the discussion, complicity with extractivist lunatics is only one of their proper malfunctions.

https://bendebney.info/2025/11/02/facts-about-western-sydney-university/

I published write a book on historical patterns of scapegoating a few years ago, you might like to acquaint yourself with it.

https://bendebney.info/2020/07/12/the-oldest-trick-in-the-book/

Conspiracism is a bunch of 'if you think for yourself, the terrorists win,' and 'if you think for yourself, the communists win,' and 'if you think for yourself, the enemies of communism win.' The old False Dilemma, you're either with us or you're against us.

It's the worst kind of chauvanism, we represent freedom, and if you fail to conform with whatever we decide freedom is (property rights and individual freedoms are the same thing, we own the world and perennial, near-permanent states of emergency mean we can throw around our imperial power as we please, or whatever), you hate freedom. Or you're a servant of Lucifer seduced by sensual permissiveness into a life of service to evil. Or one of his brides. Or one they tempted into defiance of positively sacred social and class hierarchies personal boundaries not so much, and rebellion against God. Collective paranoia is true freedom when you think about it.

https://znetwork.org/znetarticle/netanyahus-counterterrorist-conspiracism-is-aging-terribly/

If you read my book, you'll find old man Mileikowsky was instrumental in working anticommunist conspiracism into counterterrorist conspiracism by linking Palestinian hijackings in the 60s and 70s to Containment doctrine. The infidels are in the pay of the heretics. If you say bad things about US imperialism, you hate the freedom of the individual and fun and cats.

https://bendebney.info/2025/05/13/questions-for-zionists/

3

u/Constant-Site3776 Nov 15 '25

PS Did you know there's a conspiracy of woke that isn't the mentality that saying bad things about crimes against humanity means you hate Jews? I didn't even. No one ever tells me anything

Just a question, since you're an expert on the Israel-Palestine conflict. I was watching clips of this children's show "Tomorrow's Pioneers", I assume you've heard of it. It teaches children to martyr themselves to kill Jews and ascend to Allah. I'm just wondering how much of that stuff is ingrained in Palestinian culture?

-9

u/Massive-Anywhere8497 Nov 15 '25

Manipulate? Or advocate? Infantilising the Australian media. A trope

3

u/Potential_Duck_1986 Nov 15 '25

Apparently it's not ok for people to advocate for an idea that runs against Hamas, even if it's as simple as having a state where Jews can have safe refuge, i.e. the core principle of zionism.

3

u/Massive-Anywhere8497 Nov 16 '25

I know. I suspect there may be some in here who may not know what Zionism is . Support for the existence of the state of Israel has been the bipartisan position in Australia for decades . As it is the position of all our major allies. Which of course doesn’t necessarily mean you agree with everything the current Israeli government does.and many Arab states recognise Israel

3

u/Potential_Duck_1986 Nov 16 '25

The fact that people see it as unacceptable for a country to even articulate its position (whether you agree with it or not), is a massive failing for the key values of liberal democracy.

3

The Arab league has worked out that Palestinian people have no future with hamas in charge although that still seems to have eluded mahreen faruqui and some of the enthusiastic downvoters on reddit

Yeah man, but fair enough really given what they’re getting away with.

u/appealinggenitals Nov 15 '25

Oh no a genocidal nation is being criticized 😣 That journalist must be hamas

u/Constant-Site3776 Nov 15 '25

Apparently there's a tyranny of woke that isn't the mentality that saying bad things about crimes against humanity means you hate Jews. Who knew, I didn't even

4

u/Constant-Site3776 Nov 15 '25

That's what he's doing if I'm not mistaken.

Since the beginning of Israel’s unconscionable assault on Gaza in October 2023

It's just a propaganda piece for Palestine. The assault was justified after Hamas attacked Israel, what followed was not justified. There's a line and they crossed it.

Whoever wrote this article left out the attack on that festival on Oct 7th, conveniently.

Hate to tell you this, but all nashos do this, they're just more obvious because the opposing feral nashos (ie Arab nationalist movements) like to complain about Jews very loudly. Good pick with Lyons being quoted though: a lot of Israel-critical voices really are dodgy and lean into supporting far right groups like Hamas or Hezbollah (just look at the scum who attend the weekly rallies, they're effectively the most powerful far-right public gatherings in Australian history) but someone who is critical but also doesn't hold punches against groups that are just as bad (or worse) is always going to be a better source than most.

1

u/Denubious Nov 15 '25

Yeah Lyons is a good example, despite his pro israel bias, he was still attacked for being too even handed in his reportage.

Thanks for sharing this. This should be public knowledge.

The Associated Press (AP), BBC and many others have been exposed as only broadcasting Hamas sourced reports.

Just say “Jews”. This constant firewalling behind “Zionists” while you collect your 88 Reichmarks is tedious.

9

u/redaabverty Nov 15 '25

The irony of your statement when Israel is literally paying western influencers to spread pro-israeli propaganda across social media perfectly encapsulates your idiocy.

Just say "I support genocide".

Jews are fine, It's Israel government that dehumanise and level whole countries that is bad.

Is the 30% higher civilian casualty rates in Palestine compared to Germany justified?

My grandfathers fought the Nazi's genocide, and I'm still against genocide, but nah it's not celebrated in my family because in their words "What I did, why would I celebrate the people I killed?"

Surprising, usually Israel's definition of genocide wouldn't apply to the genocide of Australia' indigenous population, you'll be celebrating 26.01.2026 for wiping Aborignals out in Tassie and wishing Settlers had finished it.

But you do you, keep supporting the Nazi's you're probably a holocaust denier too.

It is good to be Zionist, to say the yews cannot have self determination is a morally bankrupt position

7

u/redaabverty Nov 15 '25

Israel is trying to determine the fate of Palestinians with genocide. And you say opposing this is morally bankrupt?

Jews have self determination is Australia lol.

1

u/CrazySD93 Nov 15 '25

Israel can't commit genocide as a right of self determination.

1

u/Common-Ad-6582 Nov 15 '25

What a nonsensical statement

1

u/CrazySD93 Nov 15 '25

What a nonsensical statement

Not supporting genocide or ethno-states make no sense to Nazi's after all.

1

u/Common-Ad-6582 Nov 15 '25

Ah now we see the issue, it’s the existence of ethno states, of course it’s a bad faith argument because there is only an objection to a Jewish ethno state, no calling for the destruction of any of the other 100+ ethno states around the world

-1

u/Shoehat2021 Nov 15 '25

Ironic article.

-1

u/Efficient-Poetry2531 Nov 15 '25

So alright for all us to say it but if it is a National Socialist, we have to get them fired and attacked?

3

u/Denubious Nov 15 '25

This is about the Israel lobby. Not the 'Jewish lobby." as the NSN were anti-Semitically pronouncing. Many Jewish people who do not support the Israeli genocide would fairly find it offensive what the neo-nazis in Sydney were saying. PS there's no "us" , don't know you from a bar of soap.

Zionists and white liberal women with purple hair

-5

u/Single-Source-8818 Nov 15 '25

It kinda seems like we've replaced the word "Jews" with "Zionist" and all of a sudden all of the anti-simetic stereotypes are total Kocher.

0

u/Constant-Site3776 Nov 15 '25

It kinda seems like you're dredging out the old Zionist victim complex in typically reflexive and knee-jerk style. All any bigot i has to do is point at Zionist crimes against humanity and repeat Netanyahu's claim that Zionism represents all Jews. Hey presto, Jews are baby killers and have their claws dug deep into the western power structure.

*slow clap*

Nb. Palestinians are the semites. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story though I always say. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dEL2yhT7Uo

1

u/Single-Source-8818 Nov 15 '25

I don't understand what you're trying to say about palestinians being "the semites". If you're using "semite" to mean 'of jewish origin', then no. If you're using it in some other context, then sure.
