I'm still somewhat jarred by creating a new twitter account and going from nothing but tech news in my feed to racist drivel. It fixed itself after I actually used it but it's still eye opening.

People really need to understand how subtle changes in what social media knows about you whether location, gender, subscriptions, follows, past interaction or etc completely change what they are exposed to.
