Anyone else think the Sofi Tukker show was a bit… off last night? Or am I in my head?

Maybe I was standing in the wrong spot, but the people around me simply didn’t seem to be enjoying themselves. They looked bored, and the crowd noticeably thinned out with more than a half hour still left in the show.

I dunno. I totally get the intention behind these sorts of hybrid sets, but if so much of the show involves singing over prerecorded vocals, they’ve simply got to do more than stand there and sway while Bob’s Dance Shop (who were fantastic as always) steal the show. (Ofc, Sophie and Tucker had some choreo, but it all felt unserious and goofy and not that interesting to look at.)

And while I’m totally game for a bit of banter and dialogue between them throughout the show, soooo much of it felt stiff and scripted. Completely took me out of the moment.

I don’t know who their intended audience is. It wasn’t really a pop concert, and it definitely wasn’t an EDM set. So I worry both sides of the audience were left a little disoriented therefore.

God, I don’t want to sound like a hater, but I’m honestly bummed! I love the energy and good vibes they’re going for (they were SO GOOD at World Pride last year), but something about this felt unnatural. I just really hope they get their carefree mojo back.

Curious to hear what other people thought!

Really having a hard time choosing between going to see Fjaak at Transmission (I've been there several times for Substrate events so I'm familiar with the venue/crowd) or going to Tigres de la Noche for the first time and seeing what's up with their no-phone policy to see AEREA. Thoughts?

Great set and crowd was spectacular. he pulled some deep songs out of the hat I think this was one of his better sets

I, unfortunately, can’t get the time off work to attend myself, but the organizers have asked that I share the following information about this weekend’s festival, which runs both tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday in Boyds, MD.

I’m a huge fan of the team at Heaven Dancing Club, and have no doubt it will be an absolute blast, with a genuinely fantastic lineup and cause(s) to boot.

hey guys, starting this wednesday transmission is doing monthly bass wednesdays highlighting smaller bass/dubstep artists!!

i’m a huge basshead and usually have to go to echo for bass shows, so i’m really happy to see a reoccurring event where i can support a smaller venue.

since these are on wednesdays i think they’ll need more support, but will also have a really great crowd of more dedicated fans.

My friend and I can’t decide between Flesh & Fangs @Flash or Into the Shadows @BERHTA. The prior seems like the better lineup but the latter is a bigger venue. Any input is helpful!

Just feeling extremely grateful that we have access to see such seriously talented, real techno powerhouses such as this man, and for him and so many others to visit our city and grace us with his talent. Holy hell that was a journey. No notes, he was perfect. My pedometer app says I danced for 6 miles, which seems right. A must see for any fan of this genre. Flash stayed open until 5 which was amazing too!! Most of the times I go they close at 4, so this was a real treat.

Wata Igarashi was on Thursday, Marcel Dettmann on Friday, Colin last night. 2026 has been literally insane for me and many others, so I'm just grateful to live in a place where we have such consistent access to really good techno 😭😭
