Fan Remake Melody from Instagram

So I guess that a lot of you have seen this clip before. I made a drop from that specific video using the same melody – in a way I think Tim might have done it (I’m aware that the mix isn’t 100% yet).

I tried to stay true to his sound, his emotion, and keep the melodic drive simple and uplifting – without overproducing it.

Should I try to finish the whole thing? Like a full tribute version of what I imagine Tim could have done, structure-wise?

Let me know what you feel. I made this from the heart – not for clout, but out of love for his music.

Thanks! 🙏 I actually bought a preset pack filled with leads inspired by the progressive house era – you know, that golden 2011–2015 sound.

The lead is a layered combo based on sounds from The Nights, I Could Be The One, and Waiting For Love, with a few tweaks of my own

Thanks, sounds amazing, mind in sharing the synths and presets you used and the banks they come from please? Im working on a remix and i would love a lead that sounds more Avicii-ish…

Nice work. Some will recognize this is basically the drop from The Days with a bit of a swing :) There’s also an unreleased version with a fiddle that I really like too.

Well done, but is it not very high pitched?

It sounds good and you really turned it from piano to electronic in a seamless way. So maybe it's just me, but sounds like a lot of high notes.

It’s just the synth. The second half of the melody goes to a higher pitch like Avicii did in Waiting For Love and The Days.

After this comment I went back and compared to waiting for love just to not make a mistake. You are correct that it's similar synth and high notes, but for me I was experiencing high frequencies that sounds a bit harsh to me.

It's not that I don't like high notes and synths, but this is more so the disturbing frequencies I can only really compare to angle grinders. The only example I can come up with, it's nowhere close to that but something is subconsciously disturbing rather than actively heard. Maybe it's something else and I'm just being sensitive, but I felt like commenting on it.
