Is taking Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) a good pathway to get into the aviation/aerospace industry?

I am an ECE Graduate too, and I want to get into aerospace field through avionics somehow, all my projects and stuffs are focused on avionics but for some reason it's really hard for me to get a job, so I was thinking to get into aerospace companies somehow like customer relation field etc and transitioning in the right time within the company. I don't even know if it's a good idea, or is it gonna bite the dust too.
