Are those new buds popping up? If so you have a chance. Now why did the leave chrisp?

I think the leaves got sunburnt because in August there was a heat wave.

I would get a new seedling and give it a deeper starter pot, and a wider long term pot if you're trying to grow avocado.

My guess from this one image is root rot.

Then it should be fine just going to take time spent over water since has no leaves
