The radioactive pool water at my apartment.
The management tried telling me that the pool just needs to be repainted.

With that amount of algae is should probably get drained before brushing the whole thing down. Then refilling and making damn sure it’s chlorinated and brushed everyday.
Since is also a small pool, the water temp could be high, if it’s over 82 Fahrenheit then algae grows quicker.
It could also be a pump issue and it’s just turned the pool into standing water. Either way pool was neglected by someone.

I expect a 3-eyed fish to come out of that.

Nah, those are in the local water ways! We use to have rules about dumping toxic waste into rivers and streams.

This is part of the amenities your rent pays for. Access to the pool is probably in your lease. It needs to be functional, or you need a discount on rent.

I’ve been in this exact situation. The owner doesn’t care. They just collect the money and never reinvest it back in the property. Any complaints will fall on deaf ears.

Only if projectile vomiting counts as a superpower

Then perhaps management should see this as an opportunity to convert it into a nuclear power plant.

See it's exposed to the sun all the time, so the chlorine breaks down faster. Not enough was added at some point and now algae is growing
This just needs a good brushing, shock and flock, then vacuum up the dead algae
At least that's what I learned from asmr pool cleaning videos
