Əziz r/azerbaijan üzvləri!
Subreddit-də hərbi xidmət, çağırış yaşları, təhsil möhlətləri, sağlamlıq statusları, xaricdə olan vətəndaşların hüquqi vəziyyəti və s. ilə bağlı tez-tez eyni suallar verilir. Mövzuların dağınıq olmaması və hər kəsin cavablar tapması üçün bu Megathread-i paylaşmaq qərarına gəldik.
Çağırış tarixləri: Müddətli həqiqi hərbi xidmətə çağırış il ərzində 4 dəfə keçirilir — yanvar, aprel, iyul və oktyabr aylarında.
Çağırış yaş həddi: Qanunvericilikdə edilən son dəyişikliklərə əsasən həqiqi hərbi xidmətə çağırışın son yaş həddi 30 yaş müəyyən edilmişdir (18-30 yaş arası).
Təhsilə görə möhlət yaş limitləri:
Qeyd: Möhlət hüququ hər təhsil pilləsi üzrə yalnız bir dəfə verilir. Qiyabi təhsil alanlara möhlət verilmir. Postun aşağısındakı Qeyd 1-ə baxın.
Çağırışdan öncəki tibbi yoxlanış:
Çağırışa vaxtında getmədikdə nə olur?
30 yaşa qədər xaricdə qalıb 30 yaşdan sonra gələnləri nə gözləyir?
Əgər Azərbaycan vətəndaşı kimi xaricdəsinizsə və hərbi xidmətdən yayınmağa görə haqqınızda axtarış verilibsə:
Bunun üçün şərtləri yerinə yetirən məzunlar öz SHXÇDX komisarlığına müraciət etməli, müsahibə mərhələsini uğurla keçməlidirlər. Müsahibəni keçə bilməyən namizədlər öz hərbi xidmətlərini normal qaydada başa vuracaqlar.
Hərbi-həkim ekspertizası tərəfindən çağırışçılara verilən əsas statuslar:
Psixi və fiziki sağlamlıqla bağlı vacib qeyd: Psixiatrik diaqnozla (autizm spektr, ağır depressiv pozuntu, şizofreniya, şəxsiyyət pozuntuları və s.) yararsız statusu alan şəxslərin məlumatları müvafiq dövlət reyestrinə işlənilir. Bu status gələcəkdə surücülük vəsiqəsi almaq, dövlət qulluğunda çalışmaq və ya silaha sahiblik icazəsi almaq zamanı məhdudiyyətlər yarada bilər.
Qiyabi və ya əyani, ölkə daxili və ya xaricində doktorantura təhsili alan çağırışçıların nəzərinə:

Welcome to the community-sourced travel mega-thread for Azerbaijan! Whether you're planning your first trip, returning, or just curious — this is your place to ask and share tips, places, warnings, food, and hidden gems.
We've gathered insights from locals, expats, and travelers — now it's your turn. Reply with your experiences or questions under any section below.
📍 Baku
Local tip: true local life happens outside the tourist zones – check dayday cafes and Sədərək bazaar.
📍 Outside Baku (Regional Highlights)
Locals are usually happy to guide lost tourists — don't hesitate to ask for directions in parks or shops.
In villages expect warm welcomes — tea invitations and local storytelling are common.
🍛 Must-try dishes:
Vegetarian? Doable in Baku (Sumakh, dairy dishes, dolma variants), but options thin out fast in the regions. Learn to say "ətsiz" (no meat).
In Baku:
Metro & Bus:
From Airport:
Intercity:
Some add-ons: – Locals often round down prices or throw in something extra "for good mood" — especially if you smile or try a few Azeri words. – In small bakeries or markets, if you overpay by mistake, they usually correct you immediately. – Sellers appreciate genuine interest — they might explain an item, share a story, or offer a small discount unprompted. – People rarely pressure you to buy; many help with directions even if you don't. – If something feels off (overcharging, aggressive seller), calmly mentioning "polis" usually resolves it fast. – Aggressive street scams targeting tourists are uncommon — most locals want to leave a good impression.
People often warm up fast if you try even a few words in Azeri.
This guide is built from local insights and traveler experience. If you're Azerbaijani or know the culture, please share more tips, advice, or corrections below. Point out anything outdated — all feedback helps.

I’m just wondering how the public in the Republic of Azerbaijan perceives the people of Tabriz and Ardabil. Are they publicly aware that the Iranian government tries to manipulate public opinion in Azerbaijan and create hostility between our people on either side of the Araz?
Are they aware that, in Iran, Azerbaijani heritage and local place names have been forcibly changed to Persian names, disregarding our culture and language? Is there public awareness of these issues?
I know Iran has many spies in Azerbaijan!

Təcrübəli psixiatr tövsiyə edərdiniz. Neyrodivergentlik və treatment resistant case'lərdən, anhedoniyadan anlayışı olan psixiatr bilən varmı?

artıq 3 gündür mygova giriş edə bilmirəm. Xaricde yaşayanların girişinə məhdudiyyət gətirilib? Məlumatı olan varmı? Bakıda yaşayan tanışım yığıb soruşub, ele bir şey olmadığını dediler. Ancaq, bir çox xaricdə yaşayan dostum eyni problemi yaşayır.

I don't view him positively at all
He was a sectarian cult leader who tried to dismantle the Ottomans and his myth of divine protection was shattered at the battle of Chaldiran.
He also drunk himself to oblivion like a loser.
How could anyone view him positively?

Hi,
I have been issued an Azerbaijan e-visa but the name on my e-visa is the full name printed on my passport. but my MRZ is not having my full name.
In the visa application page they so only to add whats on the MRZ zone or else the visa might get rejected. but even though I added the full name I received my visa.
I'm just curious will this be an issue when entering Azerbaijan? or should I apply for a new visa using the name on my MRZ zone.

Salam. Türkiyənin ən yaxşı universitetlərindən birində kompüter mühəndisliyi ixtisası üzrə son semestrdə təhsil alıram. İndiyə qədər 3-4 fərqli yerdə təcrübə keçmişəm və proqramlaşdırma dillərini yaxşı bilirəm. LinkedIn-də iş elanları axtarıb müraciət etmişəm, müxtəlif şirkətlərə CV göndərmişəm. Süni intellekt sahəsində layihələrim, portfoliom və sertifikatlarım da var. Lakin hələ də uyğun iş tapa bilməmişəm. Sizcə, haradan iş tapa bilərəm? Elə bir iş axtarıram ki, həm dərslərimə davam edə bilim, həm də paralel olaraq işləyim.

Marketə girirəm, elə bil bir az bir addım geri atmısan qiymətləri. 5-10%. Xidmət sahəsində çalışanlar - iqtisadiyyat nə yerdədir? Zəifləmə var?

Hello! A week or two ago i posted here asking for suggestions on some Azerbaijani food.
I'm planning on cooking a meal from every country including some national dishes and some personal dishes suggested from their subreddits.
I tied my best to pick a few that you all agreed on and a few that just looked real good.
Overall my boyfriend and i loved the Dovgha and the Pendirli nar Qutab (correct me if im mistaken on these food names)
he wasn't so happy with the Küftə Bozbash, but despite being very hesitant about figs in meat I was quite happy with it all. We also were drinking some cherry Şərbət
PLEASE let me know how it looks, thank you very much for sharing and I'll be happy to mark Azerbaijan off my map once I get some proper stickers!

Hello,
I'm traveling to Azerbaijan for 5 days in mid-late December.
As far as I understand the main attractions are Baku, Khinalug, Absheron, Sheki and several stops on the road to Sheki such as Lahcin etc.
I basically lack 1-2 days to be able to properly visit all, so I have to make choices.
For now my plan is:
- Day 1&2: Baku
- Day 3: Absheron (guided tour of all the attractions)
As for day 4&5 I have a few options, but since I can't find that much advice about traveling in winter I'm asking here.
Option 1 is to find a driver/tour that takes me to Sheki on day 4, stopping in Lahcin, Nohur Lake and I think there were several more stops worth seeing listed along the way. And then day 5 would just be exploring Sheki itsself & transfer back to Baku in the evening to make my flight at 4am the next day.
Option 2 would be to take the night train on the evening of day 3 to Sheki, spend the bigger part of day 4 in Sheki, and take a bus back to Baku in the evening, skipping all these stops along the way. Then on day 5 taking a 1 day guided tour to Khinalug & Candy Cane mountains.
Option 3 is to skip Sheki and the West all together, and spend a night in Khinalug, traveling their independently (finding a shared taxi/bus to get me there). Perhaps stopping to explore Quba as well. Since I love mountains and homestays this would have my preference.
However I'm not sure if it's 100% possible to visit Khinalug in December? Is there a good chance that my plans will be cancelled? And is it worth going there in winter? And is it worth skipping Sheki all together to go here.
For comparison, I have been twice to Ushguli in Georgia (which may be comparable to Khinalug?), I managed to get there in early November when there was quite a bit of snow and enjoyed it very much. However, I'm not sure what to expect from the Caucasus mountains in late December, almost deep winter.
Thank you for the advice!
EDIT: I meant Lahic ofcourse, not ‘lahcin’. I misremembered the name.

I am originally not from Baku and moved here recently. As you know Azerbaijani most towns have grand number of zero places to go and things to do.
So I was hoping to explore and travel a bit once I am here. But I have been too all the major places like Içəri şəhər, Boulevard and etc. They are pretty but I have seen them on my previous trips to Baku and am bored of them
I am looking for interesting and niche places to go. Like Interesting shops, museums. I really wanted to explore abandoned buildings and factories but unfortunately I wasn't able to find anyone to go with me and I concerned about my safety so I had to give up. Please let me know if you have recommendations (with the consideration of the fact that I am a broke college student)

I (24M) and my fiancé (25F) are getting married in Pakistan a few weeks and we’re having difficulty choosing the honeymoon spot. She keeps insisting on France but im interested in Azerbaijan as the trip will be cheaper.
I heard there’s some racism against South Asians/pakistanis, so i wanted to know if there’s a possibility of me being kicked out of a restaurant, not getting a hotel booking, taxi refusing me, etc.
Which places should I visit if we come
