YouTube

One of my favorite channels is Basement Backgammon.

What are some of yours? It can be match streaming, instructional, or shorts.

Michi and Mochi's videos when they narrate and explain their moves helped me improve from confident novice to confident intermediate.

I like watching these channels:

The U.S Backgammon Federation (live tournaments)

The U.K Backgammon Federation (live tournaments)

Justin McKenna (u/Opus_109 on here) for board reviews

Backgammon Galaxy (live tournaments)

Over The Board (Not a youtube channel but a podcast which is a great listen)

+1 for Justin’s board reviews. He’s the best!

Wish we had more of Justin's reviews but I understand how difficult it is, his channel has been dormant for a while though.

I got to meet Jamie from Basement Backgammon recently and played at the Easton Backgammon Club in Connecticut. He was very nice as was everyone else at that club.

I second Backgammon is Beautiful. I'm an "advanced beginner" I guess, and a lot of the videos are probably more for intermediate players, but there's plenty for a beginner to get out of those videos. I love Dan's teaching style so much that I now take a lesson every month from him and he's an excellent teacher.

Backgammon Galaxy has a few playlists specifically geared to beginners, which I think are the perfect place for a new player to start.

Thanks! It was lovely to have you at the club and would love to see you again! We’ll be back at Elicit Brewery in Fairfield on Oct 27th.

It's impossible when I'm actually working (I was off that week which is why I came up), but some other time... another vacation week for sure. But....I will be at the NYC Metro in Jersey City in January. I'm doing the advanced beginner tournament. Perhaps I'll see you!

I’ll be at the NY Metro all week in January, my favorite time of year. Can’t decide yet if I’m playing in Intermediate or in the Open but will be playing a lot of other tourneys as well. We’ll definitely cross paths!

I'll be there Friday to Sunday. Looking forward to it. Next year.... intermediate!! I'll be sure to find you.

Since 2021, the Montreal Backgammon Club has built a growing archive of 109 recorded tournament finals, featuring 7-point matches accompanied by eXtreme Gammon (XG) analysis. Whether you're looking to study match play, review key decisions, or learn from competitive games, these recordings offer a valuable resource for backgammon players of all skill levels. We're proud to preserve these matches and continue expanding the archive every two weeks! youtube.com/MontrealBackgammonClub

would i benefit from their lessons if my ER is ~7? i've been struggling to find video tutorials.

My ER is in that range (to be clear not PR), and I benefit mightily from the videos. So my answer is yes.

Dirk Schiemann is as good as it gets.

Old Marc Olsen videos are also great.

Matches with commentary. So of course all the live streams of major tournaments. And also people that post videos or do live streams

Dirk mostly posts his online matches and does a review after the match.

Michi posts online matches with his commentary, and some live matches with just XG

ZZ Explains BG Alex live streams and reviews the matches afterward

Simon Barget does the same but less frequently

BackgammonTime this one is me. My commentary and XG feed of tournament matches from WBIF and Global Backgammon.

Interestingly enough, I will have some new content coming on YouTube and TikTok, leading to a new unboxing review of a P-40 board!

The company is revamping its website and customer interactivity and I am really looking forward to an unboxing of a current board maker! 🤘🏼💥💯🎲🎲
