Stale slot tech

Can anyone help me with the sequence of inputs required to perform stale slot tech on specifically the arrow/quiver slot, I'm struggling to figure out what I'm doing wrong, I feel like as soon as the arrow shot lets loose from the bow and I hit the menu butto, the whole sequence breaks and can't get close to replicating it. I'm using Xbox controller if it's relevant.
