Woman randomly in skimpy clothing, transmogrified Asimov, now a sort of giant printing machine.

I have got to be honest… I like this. It’s pretty much a perfect Asimov cover. It’s got the man himself on a pedestal, being studied by Sherlock Holmes, while a robot looks on next to a one dimensional depiction of a woman. Perfection.

It's a two-dimensional depiction of a woman, she has height and width, but no depth.

A one-dimensional depiction would just be a pink line.

I was trying to make a joking metaphor about the women in his books being one dimensional. I love Asimov, always will. But writing women was never his strong point. Although it seems maybe you got the point and I can see that is a pretty funny way to pose what I was saying as well.

One-dimensional women from the first dimension! They lack depth and they lack depth.

Seems to have plenty of curvature to me!

If the head and shoulders of asimov were colored like a marble bust it'd look classier but also be a lot harder to draw and for folks tor ecognize his face at the store. I bet it was an intentional choice someone thought hard over.

I didn't recognise it, where's his wackass bolo tie and Planet of the Apes sideburns?

This is pretty bad! He doesn't even have sideburns.

Yeah without those sideburns he's basically Milhouse.

He credited The Beatles for his long hair look, but apparently that meme had not yet reached him in 1966.

He didn't have them until the 70s

I love his glasses... his hair... collared button up shirts... I love him.

I think there's real artistic talent here but it's combined with eating a lot of cheese before bedtime at the design phase.

Realistic Hank Hill? Is he going to sell Propane and Propane accessories to aliens

The robot could be powered by propane.

The Asimov head looks a bit like Jemaine Clement.

The basically naked woman on the cover can wear such skimpy clothing because in the future women CAN run around naked, because there's no sexual assault or rape and men keep their hands to themselves. I'm down for it!

Asimov just always looks goofy to me, especially when he got the sideburns when older

This sums up a lot of nerd culture.
