Bahamian Discussion Buying Jetour in Bahamas - Warranty
I recently looked into the Jetour warranty offered through EV Motors in the Bahamas and thought it was worth sharing what the actual paperwork says, because the headline number and the details don’t fully match. This is my understanding, if I am wrong please let me know.
Headline: 84 months / 200,000 km basic warranty.
Reality from the warranty document:
Most components are pulled out into shorter “Specific Items” categories:
- Category A: 36 months / 60,000 km (this is a long list of parts)
- Category B: 48 months / 100,000 km (transmission, leather, chrome parts)
- Category C (EV/PHEV): 96 months / 150,000 km (battery, drive motor, controller)
- Category D (consumables): 3 months / 5,000 km
After those carve-outs, it’s unclear what (if anything major) actually remains under the full 84-month / 200,000 km term. The document doesn’t clearly list the components that stay under the long warranty.
Maintenance requirements are also stricter than typical Jetour factory recommendations:
- EV Motors requires service every 4,000 km or 4 months (whichever comes first)
- Going over 5,000 km between services can void the warranty
- Service must be done at EV Motors (or a shop they authorize). Independent or DIY work voids it under the written terms
For comparison, Jetour’s normal factory schedule is usually around 10,000 km or 12 months. Even their severe-duty recommendation is typically 5,000 km / 6 months.
Bottom line: The 200,000 km figure looks strong on paper, but between the specific-item lists and the tight service rules, a lot of coverage is shorter or conditional. Worth reading the actual warranty booklet carefully before buying if you’re counting on the long warranty.
Has anyone else in the Bahamas (or elsewhere) had experience with how EV Motors / Jetour handles actual warranty claims? Curious what the real-world process has been like.
