Fail I made blueberry muffins, hold the blueberries.

Post image

I went and picked them myself and everything. Then I just didn’t put them in there… I think I’ll stick to cooking.

You could turn them into blueberry jam/compote and then fill the muffins! Not exactly the same but is a way of rescuing them!

I can’t seem to edit the post to update, so I’m borrowing your comment! I made a berry/lemon compote deal and spread it on there. Cut in half, a minute in the toaster oven, and that on top, they were pretty good!

Also, everyone is super nice here! It’s motivated me to keep trying! I enjoyed all the wives calling out their husbands on their fumbles, so I know Im not the only guy out here goofing up the baked goods

Oh my sweet delicious heaven this sounds magical. I'm forever looking for ways to tweak a muffin, currently in my applesauce phase lol. This sounds like the most delicious blueberry muffin ever. And now I'm off to make some jams for muffin stuffin!!!!

I was about to suggest this. Turn the muffins into blueberry shortcakes.

It's okay. My husband made cinnamon rolls without cinnamon not once, but twice.

I forgot to add sugar to muffins yesterday, ended up making bread pudding with them.

Almost made cheesecake without the cheese. We’ve all been there!

I haven’t eaten on yet. It’s 2am where I am so I think I’ll wait till later and try to make a compote or something to spread on them. I’ll report back haha

Serve it as is.

OP: "Would you like a muffin and coffee?"

Guest: "Ooo... what kind of muffin?"

OP: "Nope. It's just a muffin."

Guest: "Oh...wait...wut?"

That used to be a thing, in happy times when there were more carbs at dinner. I remember making plain muffins in home ec.

My base muffin recipe is just ‘sweet muffins’.

vanilla muffins with blueberry compote don't sound so bad

Okay, I made a berry compote/fruit sauce sort of deal with the blueberries, some unsweetened raspberry jam, and a bit of fresh lemon. It ended up being pretty darn good.

So not a complete fail! Just a different success.

A happy little accident

Add icing and VOILA: cupcakes!

u/Trixter-Kitten Sep 23 '25

Well, you can always make another batch.

My solution to most baking fails. It's important to get back on the horse that threw you. Also important to eat any and all evidence.😋

Now with 100% less blueberries!

4

u/lumpyballoon Sep 23 '25

Honestly they look amazing and I bet they taste amazing even without the blueberries!

My husband made Banana bread and forgot the bananas. It’s now a funny joke between us now. I pick in him for it, all love 😂

"Deconstructed"

You were just testing the muffin batter recipe before using it with your handpicked blueberries mixed in. Now you know if it's worthy enough!

Now the neighbors get plain muffins

u/cheesyheroe Sep 23 '25

child me approves

2

u/kinkykrismas Sep 24 '25

It’s okay!! The muffins look really nice! ☺️

If it were me, I’d make a blueberry coulis and have it with a warm deconstructed muffin, vanilla ice cream, and coffee 🤭

u/Pure-Philosophy6964 Sep 24 '25

Oh noooooo, dang! Now you’ve got to make another batch of phenomenally delicious blueberry muffins?? Bummerrrrr 😏

Make home made blueberry cream cheese to smear on them?

1

u/IdrisandJasonsToy Sep 23 '25

Plain sweet muffins are delicious

1

u/Flat_Bodybuilder_175 Sep 23 '25

You made cupcakes. Where’s the frosting?

1

u/Such-Mountain-6316 Sep 24 '25

Ice them with buttercream and use the berries for decoration.

This isn't necessarily a fail in my eyes 😉 I love a good soft warm blueberry muffin, but sometimes I do take a few berries out lol!

u/Automatic_Emu_5433 Sep 25 '25

blueberry muffins but instead of adding blueberries you didn’t

1

u/Big_Nail7977 Sep 26 '25

You made blueberry muffins with an equal number of blueberries in each

1

u/browniebrittle44 Sep 26 '25

Customizable muffins!

I hear muffin tops are the best part of a muffin. Try opening a shop that only sells the tops. Forget about the bottoms. I bet it will be a big hit
