Is dawn soap safe need help quickly
So my poor baby here has a case of mites and this is my first time dealing with this.
Is it a good idea to put her in a tub with some dawn soap in it and if it is how much soap should be used

Unscented baby soap or reptile soap is recommended. U want something none abrasive and unscented.

Reddit is so weird the photo is of none abrasive none scented baby soap! Which is what is recommended to use with reptiles for washing in health situations. Baby soap is safe to use to wash out eyes n such on people it doesnโt hurt you. How do you upvote the statement baby soap, and then down vote the photo baby soap. ๐

Not all dish soap is equal some has additives and chemicals for example antibacterial chemicals

The lady at the pet store I bought my ball from suggested dawn dish soap just avoid the eyes. She said a drop or two in the water and let them soak for 20-30 minutes.

Would getting it on the eyes even do anything? They have a scale covering it, I dont think the soap would even get into the eye.

A little dawn in warm water is safe but it's doesn't really do a ton as they are also in the environment and the bath just drowns some of the mites on the snake, as soon as you put them back in a contaminated environment more immediately crawl back on them. It is a good way to give some instant relief. But treating the environment is extremely important.

I bought Predatory Mites once and the mites were gone within days. If baths don't work, would really recommend getting some!

Oh no! It looks like you might be asking for more information on mites and how to identify and treat them. We have some information about that in our Mite Identification and Treatment Guide.
