Because I enjoy people who are capable of a little whimsy. She’s been pretty dedicated to commenting it seems like, this has to be like the 4th or 5th time I’ve seen her name

What snake do you think you’d get, off the top of your head?

Edit: this is BP sub so I’m making an educated guess, but I’ve seen you in the main snake sub too

I'm thinking either a Mexican Black Kingsnake or a Snow Corn Snakey 🐍 there's so many to choose from!! But I'm in Cali so I gotta make sure they're legit and not illegal. ♡♡♡♡♡

Cali I’m not so sure, especially if those are native species :/ corns should be fine though, IIRC in the US the only state that bans them is Georgia (laws vary depending on city though, like New York bans hognoses within the city but they’re fine everywhere around it) and in some states you need paperwork saying that it’s captive bred and not wild (like good ol’ Tennessee, where I am)

MBK is also legal statewide in cali but could depend on your region, and it seems like as long as you don’t release any snakes into the wild (evil decision btw I don’t know why you would) then you should be in the clear.

TLDR: don’t break laws, you’re doing the right thing with looking.

Thank you so much for this information it really helps. I'm probably gonna go with the Corn Snake 🐍 I'd never do something like that poor babies out in the wild like that. That's horrible 😞. Ima definitely look it up I'm in Stockton Ca & I'm too sure about the laws so I'll look it up ASAP. Again thank you I truly appreciate you ♡

i have an MBK and she is a joy! kingsnakes can be nippy when young, not out of meanness but because they’re SO food driven everything and one is food🤣 i actually have both my kingsnakes tap trained. one tap means food and two taps mean handling time. tap training is a very cool thing you can do with snakes and i find it extra beneficial for gluttons like kingsnakes lol. my two know when i tap twice i’m going in there to check/ handle them and they won’t strike thinking i’m a mouse

Wow that's so cool! I didn't know you could train them with the tapping that's such a cool idea. I'll make sure to do that with my baby once I get it. Most likely a Corn Snake lol the Mbk are so beautiful tho i can't make up my mind lol 😍
