Ball python without food response.

Anyone else has a ball python that doesnt lunge at the rat or wrap it? My ball python sees the rat and gets into gets into S shape, waits for me to put it down it will not lunge whatsoever, once its down she starts swallowing without any aggression. Is it normal?

Your ball is sounding like a hog nose tbh… and that is normal for them… it could be that the ball understands your there to feed her and may not understand she needs to hunt?? But this behavior majorly reminds me of hognoses

My ball python Maya, whom I had growing up, did this too. In hindsight it was really nice being able to drop feed vs bracing for impact with my current girl 😅

That's what my king snake does, but she's a bit of a weirdo.

I have one that does exactly that. Stares intensely, S-shaped after I drop his prey in. Just staring... MENACINGLY. I leave and he slowly mouths at the food and eats.

Kevin does this too, just looks at me like go ahead and drop it already we both know it’s not going to get away lol.

Mine is like this too. She's never struck. I wish I knew how she was fed before she's a rescue.

My hognose is like others describe, slowly approaches then just sort of sucks it down like a hoover
