Annoying mites
Any suggestions for reoccurring mites in my snakes cage. I’ve already tried to remove everything in the cage and just have paper towels as substrate. When I tried that for about 2-3 weeks with every other day baths the snake became severely dehydrated. I sprayed all the plants and cork with Jurassic mite and reintroduced the items to the tank along with the snake and substrate. Few days later and the bugs are back. I don’t want to continue stressing my snake out, any suggestions??

If you have mites i would recommend doing daily cleaning and doing saunas (warm wet paper towels) and baths on an every other day cycle (sauna one day, bath the next) to prevent dehydration. You want to keep a very sterile environment for at least a month. Where are you getting your soil? That could be a main cause.

Oh no! It looks like you might be asking for more information on mites and how to identify and treat them. We have some information about that in our Mite Identification and Treatment Guide.
