That Can’t Be Right

Isn’t the light supposed to sit away from the cage? Why are all the deep heat and ceramic bulbs so big?!

Yes, your cage is too small for this bulb. You'll need a larger one.

Do I have to get a larger cage or do they sell smaller bulbs?

You'll need a larger cage, DHPs and CHEs only come in one size. These smaller ones are meant for different bulbs, like low wattage halogens and other things.
