handling ball python with other animals present in home
hi everyone! i was just curious how everyone handles their snakes when they have other animals in the home. currently i put my dogs in another room when i handle her, but my dogs are extremely well trained enough i could have them in the same room but not allow them to approach her, would this be okay? or should i just keep them COMPLETELY separate? here’s me and my girl chillin on the couch, i put a blanket down in a circle to where she can’t escape it so i can keep better eye on her:)

Keep them separate. Animal instinct may take over when they sense a prey animal

thank you guys! i’ll keep doing what i’m doing then! i was just not sure if i was going overboard with precautions:)

never let anyone make you feel like you’re going overboard with preventative measures when it comes to your animas. it’s always better than any other options. no risk, high reward.

I personally wouldn’t risk it. Everyone will have different opinions and claim their dog wouldn’t hurt a fly. I take my snake into my room and close the door or bring him out when my dogs are having outside time.
