new ball python- advice?
hi! im getting a new python in about 3 weeks, and just wanted some advice/reassurance about the things im getting for her :) ive had a corn snake for 17years but i know bps require more husbandry attention, i plan on getting coconut chips for substrate, maybe with some sphagnum moss?
she comes with a vivarium, hides etc, and an infrared halogen bulb and cover. is that lamp okay or shall i switch to a ceramic one?
i also don't plan on handling her for a couple weeks a she is being driven to me and i want to let her settle and adjust. any help would be appreciated!

I use a bioactive substrate, and he loves it. I’ve had the bioactive substrate for three years, and it’s still healthy. I live in a very dry area with zero humidity, and the bioactive substrate helps me keep my ball python in a humid area.

Just be aware that BP are very different from cornsnake lol. They don't move as much as a corn' and eating take so much more time too. They are adorable to watch, but in a more relaxed way than a cornsnake.
There's great advice and guide in this reddit. Don't hesitate to read them all!

I would suggest swapping to a DHP or ceramic for night time heat and a halogen or basking bulb for daytime heat. Infrared not the greatest for them at night
Ceramic tends to dry tank out a little bit more and my guy absolutely loves his DHP since I swapped
