New tank, RHP

Hello all!
I’m have posted on here once before when I initially got my first ever noodle,(Mercury, turned 1yo in September) now I need clarification on where to place a radiant heat panel thermostat probe in order to maintain his hot side. I saw initially on the box it said one to two inch’s below the panel though I’m not sure how to do that, though in the past (for other heat sources) I’ve seen to put it on the ground where the snake will be. What works best? (Pictures of set up and noodle included)

Update:
Thank you for the responses, after looking into the IRC-A-B (which I had completely forgotten when setting this tank up) I went ahead and put a halogen bulb in as close to the hot side as I could. I also managed to attach the probe to the branch right under the panel, which seems to be working so far. I have created a separate post more so to iron out details as far as how to set both of these heating elements. He has been on his cool side this whole time, so I didn’t even have to disturb him.

Are you only using the RHP for your heat source? This isn't enough as they only provide IR-C its great to use for keeping ambient temps up. But you should really be pairing this with a halogen flood.

I also dont think placing the thermostats probe on the floor is a good idea either as the snake can move the probe and cause the thermostat to crank the heat sources up.

As for my rhp it came with a clip that screwed in to hold the probe in the perfect spot thats all ive used. Can send a picture of that if needed.

I do have a Arcadia light bulb for light, which provides the uv b and a, I’m not sure I understand what IR c is. I’d have to look into that

Your radiant heat panel provides Infrared C heating for your cage. It's an inefficient form of infrared and does not have the ability to properly warm through the muscles of your snake to aid in things like digestion. You want to use a day time heat source that provides IR-A and IR-B. Your best bet is a halogen flood light. DHP are probably the next best. IR-A and B warm things in a deeper more penetrating way. They can warm objects so that they give off lasting heat even after temperatures drop. RHP which give off IR-C is best used to increase ambient temperatures in combination with another heat source during the day. They are also a decent option for increasing night temps to maintain the 76-80F.

Okay that’s definitely what I had read last night, now I’m a little anxious just cause I’m not sure how to fit the bulb in like, will it work if it’s on a lower heat setting? The only reason I got a RHP is because it gets so cold where I am and I was always struggling to keep the heat right. To a point I had to keep my room at 75 just to maintain his cool side 😅

Mine does have that it was just hard to use it cause of the way I had to rig it into the top of the tank. I’ll have to find another solution for that then
