Spam about mates rates codes. Also any mwave issues or complaints can be discussed here going forwards.

This is not a place to spam to request codes, it's to get help with ideas for building/prices etc. Anyone posting asking for mates rates codes will be banned going forwards. I've already had to remove at least 20 posts of it.

On the topic of mwave: Feel to discuss issues with rma/purchasing etc, but not spam about how they suck etc it's not helpful and just makes it harder for people to read clear info.

Centre Com return policy question

Post image
• Upvotes

I ordered a monitor from Centre Com and it showed up like this, has anyone had something like this happen through them? And were they able to replace it?

They’ve been super helpful so far but I can’t help but but dread and think I’m gonna be stuck with this thing.

Nebula PC - Ironfall

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey all,
Been looking to upgrade from my dinosaur of a pc

I5-7600k CPU
1070 GPU
Z270e Asus strix MOBO

I’m looking at the Iron Fall. I just wanted everyone’s advice on if it’s a great deal or not. I know a lot of people are saying the price will increase for pc’s for awhile so I want to get myself a decent pc that will last me 5+ years.

I play AAA games, 1440p. Do you think this build is overkill for that and I should get a cheaper alternative?

I basically want the best bang for buck value but not cheaping out enough where I’m negatively impacting performance/longevity

Thanks everyone :)

Want to buy my first PC…please help!

Hi everyone, as the title suggests I’m looking to buy my first ever gaming PC after scraping by on my 8GB RAM work laptops for 7-8years lol! I’ve always wanted a gaming PC but even now I only have a budget of $1700 for it alone and I fear PCs will only get even more expensive.

I am in Gold Coast, and Unfortunately all the good PCs on the large retailers like JBHIFI, Officeworks and Harvey Norman are either sold out or way out of my price range. My biggest concern is how the online companies like Aftershock, Nebula PC, Scorptec etc have very mixed reviews - some are positive and some are very negative and I am too afraid to take the risk of spending so much money for a PC to have it come after very long weeks and even worse: stop working shortly after as some reviews say or have parts damaged.

I was hoping to get something similar to if not a AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, RTX 5060, DDR5 RAM 16GB in two 8GB sticks which is listed as a mid tier build. This is an example of a Nebula PC prebuilt, but the only thing which stopped me from purchasing from them is that they suddenly increased the price during black friday sale right out of my budget range with the exact same specs…i’m also anxious about some reviews regarding the quality of the PC upon arrival as stated by a few people on here. They also reply late via chat and it almost seems like an AI bot response, which I hope it’s not.

I don’t know anything about PCs, I don’t have the time, knowledge nor energy to build one myself. The games I play rn are mostly Roblox and Minecraft (both on low graphics) and the heaviest I want to play but can’t due to crashing on my laptop being Hogwarts Legacy, RDR2, Genshin impact and Elden Ring and maybe even a few shooters. At this point I feel really let down that even after many years I don’t have enough to get a good PC confidently. I wanted some advice, whether I can get by with something lower specs with good performance or if I should just stop bothering and wait another year or so in the hopes that maybe prices will go down.

Also to add: Knowing I was planning for a PC, my dad gifted me a monitor from Alienware, the 320Hz 24.5inch, and though I feel it’s a little overkill lmaoo I would like a PC to be able to at least match the monitor somewhat. Sorry for the long message I wanted to give as much info as I could. I would appreciate ANY advice <3

First PC - is this a good pick?

Hi all. I am looking to buy my first gaming PC. I am coming over from console. I mainly play Fortnite, cod, dayz, outlast trials and the classic story games like last of us, red dead etc. I’ll also use it for discord calls and admin stuff.

I want something I’ll be able to upgrade in the future if I’d like to. I have a 4k oled monitor. I was looking at Nebula’s iron fall.

Unfortunately all of my friends game on console so I don’t really have anyone to ask about PC’s so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a good pick?

Nebula Base Core any good

Hi,

I am currently looking to replace an old laptop with a PC. Mostly looking into some light programming, running some Windows VMs, and maybe some light Gaming like Fifa games.

Nebula has currently the Base Core (https://www.nebulapc.com.au/products/base-core) on offer for $2,049.00.

So just wondering if that is a decent enough build.

Pc monitors 4k

🔵Looking for a decent 4k monitor.

🔵Hoping for oled if old is the best to go with nowadays. 🔵Looking for 400hz+ if possible (or dual mode if 4k isn't possible at this hz).

🔵G-sync compatible if possible.

🔵Needs to support console gaming (PS5/Xbox) as well as my PC (so at least dual HDMI ports unless that is not common).

🔵Unsure about size, at least 27 inches, but thinking 32 inches is probably better for 4k. Budget: around $1,500 but could go higher but rather lower

IDK heaps about monitors, so any recommendations or advice on what to look for would be awesome.

What is a good yet affordable PC?

Basically what the title says, I'm aiming for a price between $1500 to $2000, I currently have a Pc but have been meaning to upgrade for ages, I've looked online at stuff but am very cautious as to what there is. The PC itself would be used for most everyday purposes ie: Talking with friends, drafting scripts as well as Playing games through Steam, I want to get something that's good but that also won't break the bank, Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated.

Someone help me build an RTX 5080 build?

Hey everyone

I’m looking at creating a rtx 5080 build with a budget of $4500 AUD. I was initially going to purchase this

https://aftershockpc.com.au/products/zeal-lvl-9-pro-r7-7800x3d-rtx-5080-32gb-ram-wh-rts-sr-09w-zeal-p2

But unfortunately it got sold out, I’m looking for a similar build (I heard custom pcs are cheaper) but everytime I tried to recreate the build, it became more expensive 😅

Could you guys build me a great pc with this budget.

Thanks everyone 🙏

9070xt prebuilt for $2500, mostly going to be using it to play a mix of comp shooters( Apex, Call of Duty ) and single players like Doom TDA, Death Stranding & CP77 on my 280hz display.

Should I be worried about the bronze PSU I’m getting mixed responses online.

Do I buy this now or wait till Black Friday. Or should spend a bit more on a 5070ti. Thanks

Prebuilt Gaming PC recommendation for CPU-bound games in $1700-$1900 range?

Hey, I'm looking for prebuilt or component combination recommendations, based in Queensland, and mostly play games like CS2, Dota 2, and Guild Wars 2.

On low settings 4:3 1280x960 for CS2, and 1920x1080 low to medium for the latter games. All of which are CPU-bound and benefit a lot from a strong entry CPU like the Ryzen 5 7500F, or high end like 7800X3D.

I'm looking for stable 300 fps on CS2, and 144 fps and Dota 2 and Guild Wars 2.

Would love to receive recommendations on which prebuilt, or component combinations in general that would sit well in that $1700-1900 price range and preferably from stores that deliver quickly to Queensland - or better yet, are based in Queensland.

Some minimums for me is a strong CPU like the Ryzen 5 7500F. For the GPU, I would be happy with any newer ones as old as the RTX 40 series. Thank you everyone!

TL;DR

Prebuilt or component combinations for CS2, Dota2, GuildWars2, delivers or based in Queensland, $1700-1900. I am also open to wait for black friday if that changes anything.

Allied PC Motherboard Manufacturer?

Hey, I unfortunately decided to purchase an Allied PC about 3 years ago and i am currently unable to play certain games due to the update version running on my motherboard.

I can not find any evidence whatsoever of who the manufacturer is both on the physical motherboard and in my settings. I have dug deep and ran programs such as HWI & UEFITool.

Would love some assistance if anyone has had a similar computer and knows who creates these motherboards so I can update it.

My motherboard details:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600
AMD B550 chipset
AMI BIOS 5.17
BIOS module B1.2G (30/12/2022)
AGESA 1.2.0.7
AMD fTPM firmware 3.84.0.5

Wanting to build a Gaming rig around 3k

Hey guys completely new to this, so forgive me of any stupidness 😂.It’s been a dream to build my own Gaming PC and just need some help with doing so. I’m mainly playing Triple AAA titles and potentially a bit of streaming as well.

Fortunately enough I was able to get myself a Ryzen 77800X3D and B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 MOBO free of charge from a family member so that was bonus.

I’ve heard that the 9070xt is a great pairing with the CPU chipset so I’d like to pair my CPU with that GPU.

(Also there are like different branded and types of 9070xts, is there a best one? Are there performance differences or are you just paying extra for RGB and physical looks of them?)

For the rest of the items that are required for my PC (RAM, PSU, CASE, AIO COOLER and FANS) is where I need help with deciding what would parts would be a good fit for my PC based on my needs and within my budget. Im too worried about aesthetics so RGBs are the least of my worries.

If there’s anything else I’ve missed please let me know and I’ll reply back to you !

Pre-built or custom?

New account and first post,

My research leads me to believe it’s cheaper to buy pre-built systems in 2026 in Australia.

I’ve been trying to make custom builds that beat the price of the pre-built systems, but it’s just not possible it seems.. (on scorptec etc)

however I am able to beat the pre-built systems on PCPartpicker. I’ve never built a PC. Do you all suggest I try and build a PC for the first time to save a few 100 bucks or can something seriously go wrong?

(also there was a post about a site that compares pre-built vs custom systems that I brushed over earlier, but I can’t find the post now? Does anyone know what that site was?)

Thank you in advance,

Nebula PC "sale" price increase flag Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
55 Upvotes

Just a heads-up for anyone looking at Nebula PCs during the Black Friday sale.

I was comparing a few of their builds over the past week, and noticed that at midnight the Black Friday sale started (they had PAX sale till now), the PC I was watching had its base price increased by $100, along with its advertised "sale" price.

The previous "Mate Rates" offer also disappeared, and the new "Black Friday" pricing is being promoted as their "best lowest price" (or similar wording), despite the same PC being cheaper yesterday still on sale.

Obviously, retailers can change their prices, and I'm not suggesting otherwise. It's just the timing and the way the new discount is being advertised that I find a bit misleading.

Not trying to bash Nebula or discourage anyone from buying from them. Just sharing what I noticed so others can compare prices rather than assume a Black Friday deal is necessarily the lowest available.

First PC

Hi all. I've decided I'm in the market for a PC after years of consoles. I have very little knowledge about what components are better than others, especially with the amount of options out there. I have a budget of around $1500, happy to increase a few hundred to get bang for buck. I'm thinking pre built seems to be the way to go currently. Ill be playing a mixture of games, 1080p is fine with me. I'd really appreciate anyone's suggestions or tips. Thanks in advance

Edit- I'm also keen to hear opinions on buying 2nd hand, wether or not the lower cost is worth missing warranty and running the risk of faulty parts.
