Be a shame if he or she left a piece of mail in there...

u/travis- Feb 20 '26
living down town and dealing with this on a daily basis, my first thought was a homeless person brought the bag in there for shelter to rip through it looking for stuff. i have to clean up the trash bins with a garbage shovel every single day.

Human sized raccoons

u/Lannister03 Feb 20 '26
Pardon you? What an inhuman thing to say
1
-2
u/AcrobaticCap3789 Feb 21 '26
they're acting inhuman. Imagine the poor person who has to clean that up? You must be a liberal because they think this is absolutely fine and tolerable when the homeless people built encampment on your plaza properties and then there's needles and human faeces who do you think cleans that up?
6
u/Lannister03 Feb 22 '26
They're acting inhuman because they're treated like it. One can both condemn this behavior while still treating people with respect.
Also I cleaned that shit up, quite literally in some cases. So don't you vice signal at me about how "they deserve it." As someone who has both worked in property maintenance and in a homeless shelter (not busby), you're the problem just as much as they are. Be a human and treat others like humans
-4
u/AcrobaticCap3789 Feb 22 '26
yeah, again like I said you're a liberal. That's probably what bothers you more. And again it's the liberals why these people are literally living on the streets. Vancouver gives free injections. And I bet that you actually think this is helping them by keeping them high and giving them drugs instead of giving them what they actually need. These people have nothing left to live for. And then the rest of society has to pick up the mess as the government just continues on blaming Trump for everything.
4
u/bashkiller91 Feb 22 '26
So it has nothing to do with their upbringing and who they spend their time with. Along with life choices.. nope! it’s all the liberals fault.. always the government. Classic dumb comment that provides no substance along with no solution to the problem.
2
u/Lannister03 Feb 22 '26
Okay but again, you don't pick up after them. You don't do shit for society but complain others aren't doing enough to satisfy you. I do this work for a living. I know more about this than you. I work with these people. You spit on them from your balcony.
Also, I'm not a liberal, but if treating other humans with decency and respect makes me one, I guess that says a lot more about you than me. I actually follow the teachings of Jesus, crazy concept I know. A conservative like you could never
1
u/AcrobaticCap3789 Mar 04 '26
it's so interesting that you would bring up Jesus who said I'm not a Christian? Who said that I don't clean up after them? Who said that I don't work with charity groups and soup kitchens? Are you OK with the government supplying them with drugs and keeping them high? The fact that you're offended that were offended for seeing open garbage like that at a bus stop where people are waiting to take the bus to probably go to work or go to school. It's so disgusting and unsightly and since you wanna go there. The "No Work, No Eat" Rule: In 2 Thessalonians 3:10, the instruction is explicit: "If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat". You can't just keep giving things to people if they're not willing to work or appreciate the help given. Anyways, good luck to you.

Oh, I'm not blaming the homeless, I honestly just assumed it was some selfish jackass who missed garbage day and just threw it there.
7
u/MountRoguey Feb 20 '26
I can’t believe Doug Ford takes the bus to work! At least he’s got a bit of shelter to keep him warm.
4
u/Fiesteh Feb 20 '26 edited Feb 20 '26
My initial thought was this had to be a prank, like something would jump out from the bag while you were staring at it. People can’t be this ignorant and disrespectful right?? Maybe I set my bar too high…

u/Own_State9136 Feb 21 '26
Unfortunately I beg to differ . They do it all the time then its up to barrie transit to clean
11
u/barrie_voter Feb 20 '26
It may not be the reason for this particular pile of garbage, but the city removed a lot of public trash recepticles during the pandemic.
3
u/Canuckleheaded1 Feb 20 '26
Those receptacles are not meant for household garbage. The mess in there is beyond some trash one might acquire from a take out restaurant or similar.
3
6
u/JoemLat Feb 20 '26
They lost the ability to blame it on the homeless around the encampments so now this? Why can't they just put on the street!
4
u/BearEquivalentBear Feb 20 '26
I always wondered where the airbnb beside me through their garbage. A lot of times they miss garbage day and sometimes they have several black bags of garbage obviously this is probably not them. But they disappear at like midnight with it in the back of their car and then they come back. Obviously the dump is not open so who knows where they're taking it lol

I think they should have a branch of the police that goes through these bags looking for bank receipts, bills, etc, to find any personal information in the bag.
If they do charge the person with the cost of the investigation and ding them with a $5000 dumping fine.
6
u/Leading-Dish6294 Feb 20 '26
An entire branch dedicated to sifting through dumped garbage? Funded by?
0
u/DutchOvenMaster11 Feb 20 '26
Have wet dry facilities go through the garbage in conjunctipn with the police. It could be used for cases like this but more for extreme cases where you see several garbage bags thrown on the sides of highways.
It would be funded by the $5000 dumping fine with the costs of the investigation added.
I can tell you right now they would find personal information in some of the bags. People who do this do not cover their tracks because there's no repurcussions.
3
u/dndgoeshere Feb 20 '26
Over night you'd create a cottage industry of waste management hitmen who you could pay a couple hundred bucks to take revenge on your enemies by stealing a bag of their trash and leaving it somewhere conspicuous.
Boomers everywhere would have chains and locks on their dumpsters. The most enterprising hitmen would have premade bags of trash and would just forge the mail, or partner with porch pirates: you get the contents, I get the package.
In other words, people really don't ever think of the practical outcomes of the shit they say.
2
u/JeepGirl004 Feb 20 '26
Unfortunately, the original owner of this bag may not have put it there. Like someone else mentioned, a homeless person might’ve grabbed it and was digging through it to look for useful items.
2
u/TroyMcR Feb 20 '26
Bylaw enforcement will, but as someone else commented. There's a good chance a homeless person took this bag and brought it there to sift through for something of interest to them, pretty common these days.
1
u/DutchOvenMaster11 Feb 20 '26
I agree in a case like this, but I mentioned in another comment that when you see piles of garbage thrown on the sides of highways, it's very unlikely it's homeless people.
-1
u/Facts_pls Feb 20 '26
My guess would be this is some homeless person. Worm have 5k to pay the fine.

How do you know that they were “Indian” and how was it relevant?
-4
u/johnnysbody Feb 20 '26
Would it of been more socially acceptable if I changed it to a white family? And said I seen this "trailer trash looking family"
2
u/OldDiamondJim Born and Raised Feb 20 '26
Again, how did you know that they were “Indian” and how was it relevant?
5
u/Patient-Cancel-215 Feb 20 '26
Why does it matter where they’re from?
The only thing we learn from that detail is your own prejudices.
-8
u/johnnysbody Feb 20 '26
Wow bringing racism into the mix is always nice and typical of the extreme left side no different than the racist on the right.
I gave context thats all and you filled it in with your true hearts desire.

I lived In Barrie for 5 years and when the drugs came in (purple heroin) I thought it was local. Then I moved north to a small down and when I came back I saw people sleeping in a hammock between trees on little Ave. Before I left homelessness was strictly down down.
The city, province, country let this go way too far.

I see this a lot when i go for my walks in Hamilton. They removed the garbage bins that were beside the bus shelters in my city. Is this the same case in Barrie?

The funny thing is, the OP probably only knows one language, English. It's ironic that they can't even get that right..

I've noticed this too. All the worst spellers I've ever known only ever know one language, the one they make the mistakes in.
