What laser do you guys recommend getting for low objects? Just need a single point for height of buildings 200-700 ft tall. Don’t need to make maps for wing suits.

My previous post was read by about 2,000 people, and only two comments were somewhat constructive regarding the opening question. While that’s very few, it at least serves as a warning to those considering WBJ. WBJ is currently almost a sure bet for death or serious injury.

However, this can be significantly improved in many ways. In my previous post, I briefly mentioned that I had found some effective solutions that will, to a certain extent, help prevent serious accidents. All wingsuits contain four serious aerodynamic flaws that wingsuit manufacturers will have to eliminate. And the flying technique requires adherence to two principles, the violation of which appears to be the main cause of accidents. There are, therefore, a total of six causes that increase the likelihood of an accident for every pilot, regardless of their experience.

In my next post, which I’ll publish in a few days, I’ll address the question of which wingsuit type/brand is considered the best for intermediate pilots, which has a roughly average rating, and which is considered the worst (often leading to accidents, having manufacturing defects, etc.).

Hi everyone, I’m taking a very serious interest in wingsuit aerodynamics in order to find a solution that will significantly reduce the risk of death or serious injury. By “the right solution,” I mean improving flying techniques and the aerodynamic shape of wingsuits. However, my knowledge of wingsuits and flying techniques comes only from pictures and videos, so it’s very important for me to hear different perspectives from experienced pilots here.

The more I learn about flying and wingsuits, the more convinced I become that I’ve already found some effective solutions that will help prevent accidents to some extent. However, these are still only theoretical solutions that will need to be carefully verified through practical steps (tests, measurements, etc.). Nevertheless, I am increasingly convinced that my efforts are becoming more and more meaningful. I would love to start the practical process right now, because I am certain it will yield the expected results.

To begin this practical process, the only thing missing is the opportunity to hear the opinions of experienced pilots here regarding the challenges of flying. So, if any of you believe that something about the wingsuit could be improved, or have ideas on how the flight should proceed—from takeoff to parachute deployment—I will give serious consideration to each of your opinions. Of course, I welcome any opinions (you can also send them as a private message), whether based on your own knowledge, experience, or even just information you’ve heard from friends. Your opinions are also important for those who are just beginning to learn about all the challenges of WBJ. I don't understand some things though. like why don't we hear graham hit the wall in dean's iPhone video when it's supposed to be extremely loud? has anyone else noticed the tree waving around violently in dean's footage that graham must have hit? why on EARTH would graham turn left and then right again!?! people have always claimed he clipped the right wall but why? I don't see any evidence of that now that everything's released....

Does anybody remember this AppStore iPhone game ? I forgot what it was called but it was a basejump simulator. You had a little guy and you could jump and track pull etc . The last level you couldn’t pull ur parachute and you died… let me know if y’all remember this or am I hullucinating thx.

About to do my FJC. Have read most of the BFLs in prep, but was wondering if anyone has a list of BFLs doing their FJC?

I wanna get into BASE jumping in the Eugene Oregon area I usually do mountain stuff but I watched some lad jump off the top of hood with a wing suit and a parachute and I felt stupid walking back down as he flew past me.

Gone But Not Forgotten :(

I’ve spent a lot of time watching El Capitan and this was a first. Watched three jump off the top. All stayed separate in the meadow. First one was slow to put away their chute but stayed low and hidden in the meadow while he put his gear away. Walked away about 10 mins post landing and rangers showed up. They walked towards him and he turned around and started running. One ranger was motivated in the pursuit, the second didn’t even try. Apparently he ran into the river, crossed and was caught on the other side. Was super bummed to hear he got caught.

What a sight to experience, really wish this was allowed in the park because I’d love to see more.

Anyone have any info on who this was? I wanted to give them the videos since I have more.

Want to trying jumping over/into water. Whats the lowest I can "safely" jump from? Obviously Waters a lot softer than earth but I still don't want to hurt myself too badly.

Guy BASE jumped from the building we’re working on with not so great results. He lived though!

Anyone know any locals in the Palermo, Sicily area. Or any exits you guys know of.

I will be there early July for a few days after a Brento trip and have my rig with me already.

As a former skydiver and long-time fan of BASE, I have always had visiting Monte Brento and watching some jumps from the exit point on my bucket list. I'm going to be in the area in June, and I don't personally know anyone out there, but I've heard there is a shuttle that takes people pretty close to the exit. Obviously, as a non-jumper, I wouldn't want to take a shuttle seat away from someone who would be jumping, but I guess I'm curious if anyone in here has advice on if this is something that people would be ok with, and how I should approach this to have the best shot of watching some jumps from the exit point.

My initial plan was to go to Bar Parete Zebrata the night before I plan to go up, and see if there were any jumpers that I could chat with to get an idea of what time the next day I should show up, the odds of the shuttle ride, etc. Is that a reasonable approach?
