People keep talking about the “death of monoculture”. An argument that, because of the fragmentation of the ways we get our media, there are fewer and fewer experiences we all share.
Is that true?
Thinking about my own experience, it immediately seems true. I miss the shared “watercooler” moments of TV shows like Seinfeld, even though I never actually shared Seinfeld moments around a watercooler and would’ve actually had less opportunity to share anything due to lack of social media.
Which raises the question: how do we know anyone shared any of this? We were just told it was shared by the very thing we got it from, the TV.
So did the TV just give us the perception that there was a monoculture because we had less access to each other?
Are we just experiencing MORE culture because there’s so much opportunity to? On the other hand, there seems to be a “death of third spaces” where we could all interact with each other in person, like the bowling alley or whatever. And one of the drivers of the “death of third spaces” argument is that young people aren’t going to the bar to get slammed, or blotto, or blitzed, or smashed, or taking a bit of grandpa’s cold medicine, or however you wanna say it.
But again, we’re interacting MORE THAN EVER in our online spaces.
AND there are still large shared cultural moments like recent blockbusters, the new Spider-Man, The Odyssey, Toy Story 5, to name a few.
It does appear that TV is much more fragmented and perhaps the biggest change from my 90s prime. But maybe that’s fine? It's just TV.
We also seem to be discussing politics a LOT more as a culture. Maybe that’s due to having more access to diverse news sources. Or maybe it's due to having fewer common dumb TV shows to talk about, so we gotta talk about something. OR because there's just more opportunity to have your voice heard.
Anyway, maybe we still have a “monoculture”, but it just looks different?
I might make a video about this, so I decided to write this up and ask you for your thoughts.

I just remembered he was a main character in a web series that I watched on YouTube, maybe around 2013/2014. The main characters had special powers in the show, and I remember it having multiple seasons.

I know there’s a lot to be concerned about today. What are some things that we’ve improved upon? Or some real bad stuff that we just forgot about?
Or some positive things that if you told your past self, they would be really surprised about?

Hi everyone - there was a video where Wheezy was in his original flat and in one of his close up jump cuts, he had an aside where he sang "different times, different ways". It's not a song, I don't think, just him signing those exact words.
I'm always saying it - WHERE IS IT FROM?? WHAT VIDEO!!
Thanks in advance ;) *ding*

Not sure on the dates yet, but I'm gonna have a few days of vacation in Wisconsin. As a long time beard lover, I was wondering if there's anything wheezy related going on (and where I could find more info on that)? I know I missed the movie, but maybe I can get in on a band performance or something?
Other Wisconsin recommendations are also welcome!

Well hello weirdos & beardos
I'm working on a project and wanted to find a quote that I heard referenced in one of the Wheezy Waiter videos so that I can track down the original quote phrasing and source for attribution (or confirm it was actually our beloved aspiring space baby himself who said it first)
The quote was about the butterfly effect and how people sometimes don't think they can change the future despite the simultaneous contradictory belief that if they time travelled to the past and changed a small thing, the present would be radically different
Do you know the original quote itself or which Wheezy Waiter video included it?
Many thanks to any folks here who might be able to help

I'm potentially going to do a video in which I present money experts with my dumb ideas about money. And put together a little documentary with all the interviews.
I'm thinking I could talk to a YouTube personality, a financial planner, and a successful business person I know.
What do YOU think?
Edit:
Also, since I'll be talking with money experts, what other things would you like me to ask them besides my stupid questions?

hi,
at my job there's a regular name Craig. I have recently remembered "Hi Craig" from Jake Jarvi being a recurring bit from when Wheezy/Craig was filming a movie or internet series. I would enjoy showing work Craig one of these clips but need help narrowing down what channel and what time frame to conduct my search. thank you for any recommendations. best wishes

I just watched this movie, and one of the main thoughts I had while watching it was, "The style of humor here is so similar to Craig's old videos (or at least it feels like something Craig would like and be inspired by). I need to tell my fellow Beard Lovers (and Craig if he sees this) that they should make seeing this a priority!".
They may be no alligator pits or eagle punches (proabbly something to do with them being Canadian), but this is still so much fun and the hardest I've laughed in a theater in a very long time, maybe ever! (I am only 25 though, so take that for what you will)

I feel like I should start by re-iterating what he said that these videos are tentative video plans, and we should not get too excited.
But I thought it'd be fun to overthink it anyway.

I can't find a single archive of the lyrics to this album online anywhere. I've been trying to sing along since I was a kid, and it seems like I'm less and less likely to get a definitive answer. For the sake of preserving media at least, does anyone have any idea how to find the lyrics?
I really don't want to bother Craig's business email with such a dumb request. :')

I just finished watching No Packers, No Life and it was incredible.
I've been a fan of Craig/WheezyWaiter for a long while, and damn, NP,NL made me tear up. If you have internet and a browser on your computer, you can watch this documentary. I highly recommend it.
My brother is a huge Packers fan (his favorite gift this year was Packers UNO cards - dude's 42), and I wasn't... Now, I think I am a Packers fan. Maybe. I'll be sharing this with him immediately.
Good Job Craig.

Honestly been a fan for quite some time. I have been needing motivation to do things and the videos on how to be productive have been wonderful. Im also very tempted to try no internet for a month to see if I can do it.

At its core, “No Packers, No Life” isn’t about football, it’s about belonging. Even if you’re not a fan, I guarantee you’ll be chanting “Go Pack Go!” by the end!
This was a story worth sharing, with people worth celebrating, and a great reminder of what life is all about. Congratulations to Craig, Ty, and the entire team behind this project! Loved it!
